A Day in the Life
Medtronic's Cardiac Ablation Solutions division is searching for a dynamic Mechanical Design Engineer I to join our growing team
This is a hybrid role with a 4-day onsite requirement.
The selected candidate will be heavily involved in supporting the design work for a critical ablation program.
The Cardiac Ablation Solutions team develops next-generation medical technologies that save lives and improve the quality of life for millions of patients worldwide.

A Day in The Life Of:
Complex product design activities.
Perform concept development and prototyping.
Design/develop components to be manufactured via plastic injection molding, stamping, machining, extrusion, and related processes.
Create and interpret analyses to determine the suitability of design concepts.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineering staff.
Incorporate risk-based decision-making into the design process.
Apply Six Sigma (DFSS) methodologies to all aspects of the design/development process.
Ensure on-time completion of Design Control deliverables.
Maintain current knowledge of related technologies.
Work with manufacturing and suppliers to ensure feasibility of high-volume assembly.
Translate VoX feedback into product requirements.
Create and release engineering drawings, reports, and presentations.
Travel to supplier and manufacturing sites as required.
Present technical findings or project status to cross-functional teams and management through meetings, reviews, and reports.
Research, plan, design, verify, and validate electromechanical products and systems.
Key Skills & Experience
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in engineering and 1 year of experience in mechanical product development.
Nice to Have
Interest in DRM.
Experience in the medical device industry.
Experience in complex mechanical system design.
Experience with plastic injection molding in high-volume environments.
Experience in 3D modeling, finite element analysis, and statistical design analysis.
Process and test method development and validation.
Formal training in Six Sigma methodologies.
Experience designing/developing catheters.
Experience with high-volume manufacturing.
