A-techSYNA-techSYN is at the forefront of UAV technology, delivering cutting-edge solutions to customers worldwide.Our mission is to empower businesses with advanced systems that improve operational efficiency and enable innovation.Role Overview We are looking for a Senior Integration Engineer to join our engineering team and take responsibility for integrating payloads and electrical systems into our UAV platforms.This is a hands-on role combining electronic hardware integration, test planning, documentation, and close collaboration with both internal engineering and flight operations teams.You will lead the definition and delivery of how payloads interact with the aircraft, as well as supporting broader system upgrades and troubleshooting.Key ResponsibilitiesDefine how new payloads will be electrically and mechanically integrated into the UAV, from early-stage requirements through to final installation.Support internal and customer-facing documentation, including installation guides, interface definitions, and usage manuals.Design and prepare PCB layouts and cable harnessing for new systems and payloads.Collaborate with software teams to ensure seamless interfacing between onboard systems and ground-control interfaces.Plan and carry out bench, ground, and flight tests of payloads and electronics upgrades.Support fault-finding and troubleshooting on live aircraft across sensors, power systems, avionics, and actuators.Create wiring diagrams, system schematics, and supporting engineering documentation for integration and compliance.Work closely with avionics, mechanical, and flight test engineers to ensure system-level success.Essential Skills and ExperienceStrong background in electronics, including PCB layout and electrical harness design.Hands-on experience integrating hardware systems in UAVs, robotics, aerospace, or related fields.Practical familiarity with low-level communication protocols such as CAN, RS-232, and Ethernet.Skilled in using diagnostic tools like oscilloscopes, logic analysers, or signal testers.Confident in producing engineering documentation such as schematics, wiring diagrams, and test reports.Experience with CAD software for component mounting and electrical integration.Ability to work independently on multi-disciplinary engineering tasks and follow through to implementation.Desirable SkillsExperience developing control or monitoring interfaces in C#, TypeScript, or Python.Background in UAV systems, especially related to payload control, sensors, or avionics.Familiarity with MAVLink or other UAV communication protocols.Involvement in hands-on field testing or operational support of unmanned systems.QualificationsDegree in Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Aerospace Engineering, or a related disciplineWhy Join Us?Opportunity to work with state-of-the-art UAV technologies.Dynamic and inclusive workplace culture that values innovation and collaboration.Comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for professional growth.A-techSYN is an equal opportunities employer.We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and are committed to a workplace where everyone is treated with respect and fairness.Job Types: Full-time, PermanentBenefits:Company pensionApplication question(s):Do you have experience designing and preparing PCB layouts and cable harnessingDo you currently require a work permit to legally work in Ireland?If yes, please specify the type of work permit you currently hold?Do you have experience fault-finding and troubleshooting with sensors, power systems, avionics, and actuators?Work Location: In person
