The Opportunity The NEC4 ECC Project Supervisor will be required to oversee all construction assurance activities for the Scheme on which they have been deployed, ensuring that works carried out by the Design and Build Contractor are carried out efficiently, effectively, and in compliance with established standards, specifications, regulatory requirements and requirements under the various contracts.
The role holder will be required to represent the interests of the NTA and will act as an independent body to the NEC4 ECC Project Manager.
The role holder may be required to monitor works carried out by the Design and Build Contractors, witness any testing, check compliance with the scope and ensure that all works are carried out in line with the quality defined in the scope and specifications documents.
The NEC4 ECC Project Supervisor will assist the Design and Technical Services Lead in establishing and leading the Construction Assurance Functional Area for the particular Scheme on which they have been deployed, providing strategic direction and overseeing the management of a high-performance, integrated function.
The role holder will lead the relevant sub-functional area teams and will be required to develop and undertake detailed financial and resource planning for the Scheme on which they have been deployed and oversee the day-to-day management of the activities of Client Partner (CP) staff within the Site Level sub-functional areas, ensuring they are carrying out their relevant tasks efficiently and effectively to ensure the successful delivery of Core Bus Corridor Infrastructure Works (CBCIW).
The NEC4 ECC Project Supervisor will also act as a point of contact between the Site Level and CBCIW Core Level and any other relevant NTA stakeholders and will be required to actively encourage knowledge transfer between CP staff within the Construction Assurance Functional Area and NTA staff.
The role holder will also be responsible for coordinating all relevant reporting to the PMO and any additional reporting required in line with defined governance arrangements.
In addition, the role holder will assume responsibility for the performance of CP personnel deployed within the sub-functional area and will embed a focus on continuous improvement and best practice throughout the delivery of the Scheme.
The specific tasks and areas of responsibility the NEC4 ECC Project Supervisor may be required to oversee and provide support for are primarily included in Sections 6.C and 6.H of Appendix 1 to the Client Partner Scope of Services
As a NEC4 ECC Project Supervisor at Arup, you will: Required to have 10+ years' construction management / supervision experience with at least 5 years' experience carrying out construction management / supervision activities across the project lifecycle through to completion in high value road and / or infrastructure projects or projects of a similar scale and complexity to CBCIW.Further demonstrated experience and knowledge in the following is desirable:Delivering engineering solutions and results in dynamic urban environmentsEnsuring works are compliant with the Works Requirements and Road SpecificationsSite supervision of contract works, including earthworks, drainage, bridge and building construction, preferably within a live urban environmentCarrying out duties of NEC Supervisor including relevant NEC trainingWorking knowledge of the NEC contractCDM and Health and SafetyIrish Building Regulations and Irish Planning ProcessEcological and environmental aspects related to constructionOperating on site, not just office basedDocumenting best practice construction project management policies and standardsDelivering construction/asset delivery projects to time and within allocated budgetOperating as a client's project managerManaging high-performing staff / teams including carrying out performance management, undertaking resource planning and embedding a focus on continuous improvement and best-practice andDealing with a range of stakeholders at all levels across the organisation influencing the improvement of process and guidance to support project deliveryDoes this role inspire you?
