Maintenance Technician

Maintenance Technician County Leitrim Company Overview: We are a leading food processing facility located in County Leitrim, specialising in delivering high-quality products to both domestic and international markets.
Operating a modern plant with state-of-the-art equipment, we are seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician to join our team and ensure the ongoing smooth operation of our production processes.
Key Responsibilities: Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on a range of plant equipment and machinery, including curing equipment, food packaging machinery, conveyors, HVAC systems, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical faults to minimise production downtime.
Collaborate with production teams to ensure equipment operates at optimum efficiency.
Assist in the installation and commissioning of new machinery and upgrades.
Participate actively in continuous improvement initiatives and safety audits.
Ensure adherence to health and safety procedures and regulatory requirements.
Respond promptly to machinery breakdowns and operational disruptions.
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment.
Keep accurate and up-to-date maintenance and repair records.
Candidate Requirements: Qualifications: Relevant mechanical or electrical trades qualification.
Additional certifications in mechanical or engineering disciplines are an advantage.
Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience in a maintenance technician role, ideally within food processing or manufacturing industries.
Strong mechanical aptitude, with the ability to service and repair a broad range of industrial machinery.
Flexibility to undertake mandatory overtime as required.
Skills: Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
Strong organisational and multitasking skills.
Effective communication and teamwork capabilities.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Desirable: Previous experience within the meat or fast-paced food production sector.
Familiarity with food safety and hygiene standards such as HACCP and BRC.
