At Grid & Power Quality Solutions and Service business at Hitachi Energy in Europe (HBUEU), Inclusion drives our culture of innovation and collaboration.Our leading technology and strong market position enable us to achieve growth targets in the energy transition acrosscurrent and growing market segments such as hydrogen, data centers and e-mobility.Hitachi Energy has an exciting opportunity for Electrical Engineers, to join our dynamic Engineering team.To support the Hitachi Energy Ireland Power Grids Grid Integration Business.The role reports to the Operations Manager and is responsible for electrical design works complying with Hitachi Energy and customer's standards, procedures, and policies.The role would be responsible for design authority for an engineering discipline with medium to high complexity.Coordinate engineering assignments across several different projects within the entire value chain efficiently, cost-effectively and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards and safety requirements.Location, Ireland (Hybrid) with travel to Dublin and other sites.(Please note we are unable to provide visa support for this position)How you'll make an impact:Acts as a technical lead, approves design deliverables.Reviews all project documents for conformity and quality assurance.Anticipates and solves unprecedented problems, crucial issues and/or unique conditions.Serves as a specialist in the application of advanced concepts and methods.Assists in preparing proposal/presentation of engineering projects/programs (provision of bills of materials, estimated engineering hours, etc.).Supports Contract Managers in issuing claims (new/change in scope of work, cost impact, time impact, risk quantifications, etc.).Provides quality solutions as per customer requirement and delivers within budget and contract.Ensures adherence to safety standards and mitigates potential risks.Creates work plans and cost estimates in own area of responsibility Reviews and approves scope, budget and schedule for assignments and ensures quality deliverables on time and within targeted cost.Improves effectiveness of work plan in collaboration with other functions.Creates and executes strategies for risk and opportunity management in one's area of responsibility.Identifies and manages contract risks taking corrective actions to resolve any contract/quality/program/cost issues.Reports any outstanding issues to management, along with recommendations for resolution.Works with the customer to shape and deliver solutions and seeks customer feedback to drive and deliver improvements.Attends project meetings and presents specific aspects of engineering assignCollaborates with the Supply Chain function to ensure that technical requirements for equipment or services are communicated and agreed on with potential suppliers.Provides technical evaluation of supplier proposals and accepts as fit for purpose supplied equipment or services.Represents function in standardization committees and in communication and conferences pertaining to broad aspects of engineering assignments.Acts as technical specialist/adviser to senior management.Collaborates and networks within Hitachi Energy and externally.Reviews, develops and documents quality standards, processes, tools and techniques.Ensures that engineering activities comply with required safety regulations and contractual requirements.Contributes towards continuous improvements of processes and tools for engineering efficiency.Your Background:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.Proven experience in electrical engineering within the utilities, data centers, or general industry sectors.HV ExperienceStrong knowledge of engineering design principles and standards.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to anticipate and address complex issues.Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work well in a team environmentWhat We Offer:Competitive salary packageExcellent company pension and wide-ranging benefits schemes.Top quality H&S culture alongside comprehensive training and personal development programmes.Inclusive Work Environment: We foster a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued and respected.More about usWe offer fantastic opportunities to work on dynamic, high-impact and cutting-edge industry initiatives that are making a crucial impact to society whilst also offering the vibrancy of working within a world-leading global organization.Location Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland;Dublin, Leinster, Ireland;Remote -
