We would like to invite applications for the following,10-hour, permanent contract position:Shop AssistantTralee, Co.KerryIWA is committed to promoting, maintaining, and adding to our diverse and inclusive work environment.The overall purpose of this job is to act as Shop Assistant for the IWA retail charity shop operated by the Irish Wheelchair Association, reporting to the Shop Supervisor and working with other shop staff and volunteers.You will be instrumental to making sure the shop is at the hub of the local community, in a manner which reflects high street retail standards and maintains the professionalism and profile of IWA in all areas of operations.There are a number of key relationships, which should be fostered and developed for the successful implementation of this role.These will be with your line manager, colleagues based in the IWA charity shop, support staff, volunteers and other Irish Wheelchair Association Shop Assistants/Supervisors.Hours of work per weekThe shop will operate from 10:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Saturday.The shop assistant post will have assigned days to work by the shop supervisor, but days may change depending on the requirements of the shop.The assistant post will be required to cover holidays and other absences and needs to be flexible with their workdays across Monday to Saturday.Knowledge And SkillsPrevious experience in the retail (fashion) area is essentialExperience of working with cash, till, lodgements, and/or petty cash is essentialExperience Of Working In Customer Facing Role Is EssentialExcellent communication and interpersonal skills are essentialHigh level of attention to detail is essentialA keen eye for visual merchandising and display would be a distinctive advantageBehavioursThe ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiativeStrong motivation and drive with an abundance of energy and commercial flairAn ability to establish and foster excellent working relationships with many different people across different functions and locationsStrong customer service focusAn ability to display empathy, patience, and a well-developed sense of humourPleasant and helpful mannerWillingness to work in a flexible mannerCompetenciesCommunicating and InfluencingInnovation and CreativityQuality and Customer FocusCommercial FocusRemuneration Benefits€***** per hour, increasing with national minimum wage adjustments.Excellent working conditionsA commitment to the on-going training and development of all employeesAnnual leave - 8% of hours workedPension scheme availableClosing date for applications is Friday 24th, October ****Documentary evidence of your relevant qualification(s) may be required in advance of or during the recruitment process.
