Our client seeks a Procurement Category Manager as part of the Ireland Procurement team, reporting to the Country Procurement Director.
In this capacity you will be accountable for the execution of the defined category strategies on a local level.
Act as a Lead Buyer for local organisations.
Identify and enable opportunities for cost savings, cost avoidance and service improvements.
Provide guidelines and direction to the local team to execute procurement tactics to achieve these benefits.
Build strong and effective relationships both with internal customers, the local/regional category team and external suppliers to create the framework for the implementation of procurement initiatives and processes.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities: - Responsible for key strategic categories with specific reference to Mobile Plant and "Yellow steel" categories.
- Develop category strategies to deliver value for the business and ensure delivery of these cost benefits, right through from initiation to contract conclusion in line with business needs.
- Works closely with the national/regional directors, local managers and Group Direct Sourcing to determine sourcing needs, capture synergy opportunities and leverage economies of scale.
- Build strong and effective relationships across all stakeholder groups to create the framework for the implementation of procurement initiatives and processes.
- Forecast, budget and deliver on financial KPI's.
- Drive annual cost saving projects and other procurement benefits using best in class procurement tools.
- Provide monthly reports and KPI's that demonstrate continuous improvement and delivery across all key categories.
- Drive the Sustainability agenda in line with business decarbonization roadmap.
- Develop best in class expertise and national market knowledge for assigned categories.
- Demonstrate the highest level of professionalism and expertise.
Interested applicants should have: Well-rounded and experienced procurement expertise with sound business acumen.
Data and people driven person and decision maker.
Ability to lead and drive the execution of the local category management agenda.
A dedicated and engaged partner who strongly engages with both the business and the regional procurement organization to enhance collaboration and obtaining the local procurement objectives.
