Overview:
We are currently seeking an experienced and hands-on
Utilities Lead / Electrical Supervisor
to join a major project in Dublin on a 24-month contract.
This is a key role responsible for the safe operation, supervision, and maintenance of medium voltage (MV) electrical systems on site.
The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, ready to hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and monitor medium voltage switchgear, transformers, and distribution systems.
Perform switching operations, isolations, and grounding procedures in strict accordance with safety protocols.
Coordinate planned and emergency outages with internal departments and external utility providers.
Conduct routine inspections, functional testing, and preventive maintenance on MV electrical equipment.
Respond promptly to electrical faults and outages, carry out diagnostics, and initiate corrective measures.
Maintain accurate records including switching orders, incident reports, and maintenance logs.
Collaborate closely with engineering, construction, and maintenance teams to support system upgrades, modifications, and commissioning activities.
Ensure all work is compliant with relevant electrical codes, safety standards, and company policies.
Actively participate in site safety meetings, training sessions, toolbox talks, and audits.
Candidate Profile:
Proven experience supervising MV electrical systems, ideally within a utilities, pharmaceutical, data center, or industrial setting.
Strong understanding of electrical safety and isolation procedures.
Ability to lead a team, delegate effectively, and foster a collaborative and positive working environment.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – approachable, helpful, and team-oriented.
Comfortable being hands-on, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
Willingness to contribute to continuous improvement and uphold safety and quality standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
MV switching authorization/certification is highly desirable.
Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role on a construction or operational site.
