Role OutlineAt ECSL, we are a multidisciplinary consultancy working across civil infrastructure, power, rail, buildings, and utilities.Guided by our values of innovation, sustainability, and social responsibility, we deliver engineering solutions that have a lasting positive impact on communities.With teams in Ireland, the UK, and India, we combine global expertise with local knowledge to support our clients' most ambitious projects.We are seeking a Technical Director to join our Civil Infrastructure team in Ireland.Based at GreenTech HQ in Enniscorthy, County Wexford – Ireland's Sustainability Innovation Hub, this leadership role will combine technical excellence with business growth.The role is offered on a hybrid basis, with flexibility to work remotely and the expectation of spending 2–3 days per week at our GreenTech HQ office.You'll work closely with our Ireland Director, alongside colleagues across the UK and India, to deliver high-quality civil engineering design and project management.As Technical Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping ECSL's growth in Ireland.From leading design on complex engineering projects to driving business development and mentoring engineers, this position offers the chance to make a tangible impact.With a balance oftechnical leadership, client engagement, and team development, you'll be at the forefront of delivering projects that align with ECSL's mission to engineer a more sustainable future.We'd be delighted to hear from Chartered Engineers who are ready to take the next step in their career and are excited by the opportunity to lead, innovate, and grow with usResponsibilitiesLead civil engineering design across power, rail, buildings, and utilities, from concept to constructionManage technical and financial aspects of projectsOversee tender preparation for Irish project bidsSupport business development in line with company visionDirect project management for new and existing projectsMentor, recruit, and develop engineering staffAttend client meetings and build strong stakeholder relationshipsQualificationsChartered Engineer with 5+ years' managerial experienceDegree in Civil Engineering (Bachelors or Masters)Strong technical knowledge and problem-solving abilityProven project management and line management skillsUnderstanding of UK & Ireland design standardsSite experience in the UK & Ireland construction market, including safety policies and project supervisionValid driving licenceExcellent communication and teamwork skillsExperience in civil engineering design with emphasis on power and rail projects
