We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Relief Worker to join our team at Loreto Convent.This position plays a key role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall upkeep of the building while offering light support to residents.The role involves general maintenance and cleaning duties, with particular responsibility for resident interaction and building supervision during evening, night, and weekend shifts.Key ResponsibilitiesBuilding UpkeepEnsure the general upkeep and cleanliness of communal areas, kitchen, and bathrooms.Keep the surrounding grounds tidy and free of hazards.Night & Shift SupportProvide supervision during evening and night shifts to ensure the safety and security of residents and the premises.Act as the first point of contact for residents during your shift, offering support or guidance when required.Ensure building procedures are followed.Respond to any incidents or emergencies in line with established procedures.Health & SafetyConduct routine safety checks and maintain a hazard-free environment.Monitor and maintain safety equipment (e.g., fire extinguishers, alarms, and emergency exits).Respond appropriately to fire alarms and emergencies — including calling emergency services and following evacuation procedures.Report maintenance or safety issues promptly to management.Resident Support (Limited)Provide residents with basic information about building facilities and rules.Ensure a safe, clean, and functional living environment for all residents.Report any resident concerns or building-related issues to management.Record Keeping & ReportingMaintain accurate records of duties, incidents, and building checks.Complete handover notes for next staff and review updates from previous shifts.Ensure all visitors are signed in and accounted for.What We're Looking ForA caring, responsible, and proactive individual.Good communication and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently, particularly during night shifts.Flexibility to work a rotating schedule including evenings, nights, and weekends.Why Join Us?Working with Loreto means being part of a team that genuinely makes a difference.You'll help provide safety, stability, and dignity to individuals and families during a challenging time — all while working in a supportive, values-driven environment.Job Type: Part-timePay: €***** per hourExpected hours: 20 per weekWork Location: In person
