Healthcare Assistant - Women's High Support ServiceIf you want to make a real impact on the lives of others join Galway Simon Community where we work towards eliminating homelessness through advocacy, education and campaigning in line with our values of compassion, community and collaboration.Contract Details Permanent, Part-Time 32 hours a week on average as part of a 4-week rolling roster with a 7-day liability that includes 'sleep-overs'.Location GalwaySalary HSE Health Care Assistant 01/03/23 salary scale €31,723 - €40,738 (pro rata)BenefitsSundays: Time and a HalfPublic Holidays: Double TimeSleep Over Premium25 Days Annual Leave (pro rata)Education Assistance SchemeEmployee Pension SchemeBike to Work SchemeEmployee Assistance ProgramDeath in Service (2x basic salary)Job SummaryHealth Care Assistants work across our housing service, and community support services.Working alongside our Housing Support Officers, delivering practical and emotional supports to clients as part of their overall support plan.Key ResponsibilitiesClients - Support clients from all backgrounds and experiences, in a calm, trauma informed, harm-reduction approach to implement client support plans that maximise their health, self-care, education, community engagement, home management skills, and their overall well-being with the goal of independent living.Compliance - Stay compliant with all organisation policies, stay up to date on mandatory training, participate in routine maintenance, inspections and cleaning in line with health and safety standards.Service Delivery - Systematically log and record all interventions with and behalf of clients on relevant systems, work in an organised and efficient manner with clear communication within the team to deliver high-quality professional service.General - Willingness to adapt as needed to support client and service needs.Values - Demonstrate the Galway Simon Community values compassion, community and collaboration.This job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of responsibilities.Essential RequirementsQualification - Minimum QQI Level 5 Major Award in Health Service Skills (5M****) or Healthcare Support (5M****)Experience - 1-year relevant experience in a similar role in a care setting.Driving - Valid, full driving licence; access to own vehicle and ability to obtain insurance for business use (cost covered by organisation)DesirableKnowledge/Experience of homeless sectorTrauma informed approachClosing date midnight on 14/09/2025Galway Simon Community is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.
