Overview
The role of Data Scientist will support key business functions using a variety of data mining/data analysis methods, various data tools and programming languages, and creating/running simulations.
The purpose of this role will be to drive business actions with data-based insights, by communicating and working with a wide range of stakeholders and functional teams.
This is a hybrid role based in our Dublin City Centre office 3 days per week.
Responsibilities
The Data Scientist will be responsible for working with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business actions.
They will also be tasked with incident and reliability analysis as required and collecting and documenting requirements for strategic projects.
Provide actionable business insights to various business functions.
Advise business on statistical formulations and reliability.
Oversee planning and analysis of product delivery trials.
Mine and analyse data from company databases to drive optimization and improvement of product development, marketing techniques and business strategies.
Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.
Responsibility for implementation of best practices as they relate to Data Science, data quality and governance strategies.
Coordinate with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes.
Research data science trends and technological innovations to make appropriate development recommendations.
Work closely with other development & technical staff.
Report on critical business KPIs and provide insights on trends.
Identify areas for improvements for reliability, efficiencies and adaptability – in that order.
Act as a Data Steward, identifying gaps and reporting on data quality improvements.
Qualifications
A degree or Masters in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related discipline.
2-3 years of experience manipulating data sets and building statistical models.
Statistical computer languages (R, Python, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets.
Knowledgeable in business processes and functions.
Experience working with non-standard, unstructured data sets and experience with data quality and data profiling.
Strong analytical skills that ensure projects are delivered to an accurate and high-quality standard.
Technical Skills:
Python/R/SAS/SPSS development skills, strong development and design skills, PowerBI development.
