Our client, a privately owned Irish company based in Longford, is seeking to recruit a Process Engineer to assist the Engineering/Production department in improving the manufacturing of product and develop the most optimum moulding process and tooling and automation that meets or exceeds customer requirements on both new and existing tooling.
This person will provide the company with the technical resources to ensure that current and future projects are run in accordance with customer specifications and in-house specifications and standards.

Requirements: MusthaveaminimumofaNationalDiplomainPlasticsEngineering(PreferablyaDegreeinEngineering)andatleast4-5yearsexperienceintheinjectionmouldingindustry.
MusthaveaverygoodknowledgeofInjectionMoldtoolinganddesign.
MusthaveaverygoodknowledgeofInjectionMoulding(standardprocessandMulticomponent),Processing,Ancillaryequipmentandautomationsystems.
PreferablyworkedineithertheMedical,Packagingortechnologicalindustries.
PreferablyhavesomeknowledgeofRealtimemonitoringsystems.
Musthaveanin-depthknowledgeofStatisticalProcessControl(SPC)andDesignofexperiments(DOE)anddemonstrateuseofsame.
ShouldhaveagoodknowledgeoftheprinciplesofWCM,JIT,SMED,andKaizen.
Musthaveknowledgeincomputersystems;integratedmanufacturingsystems;wordprocessingandspreadsheets.
(Also,knowledgeofMFGProwouldbeadistinctadvantage).
Musthaveexcellentwrittenandverbalcommunicationskillsaswellastheabilitytoaccuratelydocumentworkperformed.
Mustbeabletoworkinafast-pacedenvironment.
Mustbeabletotravelasrequiredbytheposition.
Mustbeabletoworkindependentlyonownprojectswhileworkingconcurrentlywithall departments.
EssentialJobDutiesandResponsibilities: Responsiblefortheintroductionofallnewproductsintothecompanyandcompilingstandard specificationsforeachprocessandmonitoringallexistingproductiontostandardspecifications.
Ensuresprocessoptimizationusingstatisticaltechniques.
WorkswiththeProductionGroupleaders(PGLs)introubleshootingprocessingproblems.
EstablishesrelationshipswiththecustomersandEquipment/RawMaterialsuppliersinpursuitofcontinuousimprovementandon-goingbusinessdevelopment.
Solves,inconjunctionwiththeQualitydepartment,customerrelatedproblems/issuesasneeded Instructsothers,formallyorinformally,regardingmanufacturingrelatedskillsorknowledgeandassistinthetrainingofemployeesonnewprocessesorsystemsintroducedtothecompany.
Communicateonaregularbasis(orasappropriate)withexternalsuppliersofmaterialsandequipmentandprovideregularfeedbackonanyissuestothemanagementteam.
Performadditionaldutiesattherequestofthedirectsupervisor.
