The Company:Prodieco is not only the largest provider of high-performance blister tooling change parts for the pharmaceutical industry, It is a mindset that leads us to pursue quality operational excellence and precision in everything that we do.Our ethos is simple – There is always a better way.You see this in our continuous drive for internal process improvement but more importantly the dedication to enhancing every tool design to produce the perfect blister pack.From the engineering design office to the workshop floor and support functions, we are a close team united by one desire: working to make high performing tools.We provide many ways to develop and grow your potential, in a superb working environment.Role Overview:To operate and program EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) wire erosion machines to manufacture precision components according to engineering drawings, ensuring high accuracy, quality, and efficiency in line with company standards.Key Duties/Responsibilities:Set up, operate, and monitor EDM wire erosion machines (e.g., Fanuc, Sodick, Mitsubishi, or similar).Read, interpret, and work from engineering drawings, CAD models, and job specifications.Program machines using CAM software or at the machine control panel as required.Select appropriate tooling, wire, and machining parameters to optimize performance and accuracy.Carry out first-off inspections and in-process checks using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, verniers, CMMs, etc.).Maintain tight tolerances (often within microns) on complex and intricate components.Troubleshoot machining issues and adjust settings/programs to ensure optimal performance.Perform routine machine maintenance, including wire threading, dielectric fluid checks, and cleaning.Ensure compliance with health & safety standards and company quality systems (e.g., ISO****, AS**** if applicable).Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve processes and efficiency.Key Requirements:Proven experience as an EDM wire erosion operator/programmer in a precision engineering/manufacturing environment.Strong knowledge of EDM processes, materials (steels, alloys, carbides, etc.), and machining principles.Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T.Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Esprit, Mastercam, or equivalent) preferred.Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Competence with precision measuring equipment.Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workloads.Team player with good communication skills.Ideal Candidate:Apprenticeship or vocational training in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering.Experience in aerospace, medical, or toolmaking sectors.Knowledge of other machining processes (milling, grinding, CNC machining) is an advantageMust be able to work weekends.Benefits:On – Site ParkingQuarterly BonusCompany EventsRefer a Friend up to €1,500Early Finish Friday'sMaternity/Paternity Top UpWe manage our recruitment process in line with General Data Protection Regulations.For more information on your data protection rights please view our privacy statementProdieco is an equal opportunities employer
