The Collaborative Apps and Platforms Ecosystem (CAPE) team empowers Microsoft partners and customers with the tools, guidance, and support needed to build impactful Microsoft 365 (M365) applications and services, solutions which underpin business processes and productivity scenarios across our diverse ecosystem of organizations and businesses.
As part of the CAPE team, you'll collaborate with partners across Teams, Copilot, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other M365 verticals and leverage the latest M365 platforms and frameworks, including the Fluent design system, to deliver transformational, user-centric solutions.
Your deep customer knowledge and insights will help to guide features and enhancements that improve our products and drive user value.
As a Product Designer II, you will define specific product needs based on user insights to ideate and define solutions that meet user needs.
You will create and develop design concepts and specifications that optimize the emotional and functional experience of a product.
You will focus on end-to-end user experiences, empathizing and balancing experiences with business and technical tradeoffs.

You will produce visual designs from concept through delivery and sustainment, support interaction designs for software-based experiences, and partner with internal development teams, marketing, and design groups to research and analyze customer feedback for incorporation into product enhancements, new product designs, and overall design language and strategy.

QualificationsRequired Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 3+ years experience working in product or service designOR equivalent experience (e.g., demonstrated experience working in product or service design or using design thinking to solve problems)Experience designing and prototyping in FigmaPreferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in industrial design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 5+ years experience working in product or service designOR Master's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 3+ years experience working in product or service designOR equivalent experience (e.g., demonstrated experience working in product or service design or using design thinking to solve problems).2+ years experience shipping products, services, or games and/or delivering to customers as a result of an end-to-end design processExperience in accessibility and inclusive designProven ability to advocate for design thinking, influence design outcomes, discover problems, and solve them in fast-paced environments.ResponsibilitiesDesign Excellence: Understand customer behaviors, motivations, and needs to develop relevant and impactful experiences.
Deep understanding of Design Systems and delivering impactful experiences within those constraints.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Interact with creative team members, product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to define, iterate, and implement product features, ensuring alignment with requirements.
Collaborate with user researchers to coordinate testing, interpret results, and incorporate feedback into design efforts.
