Overview
Role focused on privacy, governance, risk, and compliance within xAI.
The candidate will partner with engineering, product, sales, finance, and legal to design and operate GRC programs, manage regulatory risk, and ensure compliant AI development and data usage.
This is an in-person role based in Dublin with travel up to 25%.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with engineering, product, sales, finance, and legal teams to overcome obstacles to product success.
Design privacy, governance, and compliance operations to enable selling xAI's products with minimal friction.
Understand and mitigate privacy and governance risks; handle privacy, governance, risk, and compliance operations.
Respond to customer privacy, security, and compliance questions.
Develop and maintain a robust governance framework aligned with industry best practices.
Establish policies, procedures, and controls for compliant AI development, data usage, and decision-making.
Partner with leadership to integrate governance into product development and operational processes.
Identify, assess, and prioritize risks related to AI operations, cybersecurity, regulatory compliance, and intellectual property.
Design and implement risk mitigation strategies, monitoring systems, and contingency plans.
Conduct regular risk assessments and scenario analyses to address emerging threats in AI.
Ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and standards (e.g., GDPR/CCPA, EU AI Act, industry-specific requirements).
Monitor regulatory developments and advise leadership on impacts on operations and roadmap.
Oversee audits, certifications, and third-party assessments to maintain compliance and credibility.
Develop and deliver GRC training programs for employees.
Act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance to teams on risk and compliance matters.
Create and present regular reports on GRC performance, risks, and compliance status to senior leadership.
Leverage data and analytics to measure GRC initiatives and drive continuous improvement.
Contribute across privacy, legal, and compliance areas as needed.
Demonstrate strong ownership, curiosity about technology, and sound judgment in navigating complex situations.
Demonstrate problem-solving drive and readiness to learn about customer needs and products.
Qualifications
10+ years of legal experience, ideally with governance, risk management, or compliance in innovative technology companies.
Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, Information Security, or related field; Master's degree or certifications (CISA, CRISC, CGEIT) preferred.
Proven expertise in regulatory frameworks, data privacy, and cybersecurity in a tech or AI-driven environment.
Familiarity with ISO 27001, NIST, SOC 2, or similar frameworks.
Experience managing third-party risk or vendor compliance programs.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with cross-functional influence.
Ability to learn quickly about new technologies and product needs.
Strong ownership and enthusiastic problem-solver with sound judgment in ambiguous situations.
In-person presence required in Dublin, Ireland, with at least 3 days/week in the office.
Willingness to travel up to 25%.
Annual Salary Range
€160,000 - €220,000
