Job Title: Timber Frame Designer Location: Cork, Ireland About Us: Our client is a leading specialist in timber frame housing, delivering innovative and sustainable construction solutions across Cork and beyond. We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Timber Frame Designer to join our dynamic team. Role Overview: As a Timber Frame Designer, you will play a key role in the design and development of our timber frame housing projects. Working closely with our design and construction teams, you will create precise and efficient designs that align with project specifications and client needs. Key Responsibilities: Develop and produce detailed timber frame designs and drawings using CAD software. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure designs meet structural and aesthetic requirements. Review project specifications and ensure all designs comply with relevant building regulations and standards. Provide innovative design input to Optimize efficiency, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness in our projects. Assist with estimating material quantities and liaising with suppliers as required. Work with the production and site teams to ensure designs are accurately translated into construction. Qualifications & Experience: A degree or diploma in Architectural Technology, Civil/Structural Engineering, or a related field. 35 years of experience in timber frame design, preferably within the housing sector. Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools). Strong knowledge of timber frame construction methods, materials, and relevant building regulations. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing individual responsibilities. Desirable Skills: Experience with 3D modeling software (e.g., SketchUp or similar). Knowledge of sustainability and energy-efficient building practices.
