OverviewNNIT has an immediate requirement for a Dublin-based project focusing on automation and control systems design, programming, implementation and delivery of bespoke smart factory solutions.DetailsType of contract: PermanentLocation: DublinLanguage: EnglishMobility: Very limited travelApplication Deadline: 31/10/2025The RoleSenior Automation Systems EngineerLocation: Dublin (Onsite)Contract type: Permanent or ContractorCore ResponsibilitiesLead the design and implementation of automation control systems, ensuring alignment with budget, scope and schedule requirements.Execute comprehensive controls design documentation (e.g., CSVRA, SDS, VDS), ensuring compliance with GAMP5 and 21 CFR Part 11 where applicable.Engage in full-cycle testing and validation, including simulation, debugging, FAT and SAT activities.Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Project Managers, Mechanical/Electrical Designers and Software Engineers) to fine-tune system performance.Oversee the build and debug phases of control systems and provide hands-on direction during equipment assembly and commissioning.Architect and configure automation platforms, including FactoryTalk View SE, ThinManager, KepServerEX, MS SQL Server and SSRS.Apply advanced programming skills in Rockwell PLCs (Ladder, Structured Text), FactoryTalk VBA and SQL.Participate in product development and innovation efforts, contributing to continuous enhancement of automation solutions.Qualifications / Skills5+ years' experience in industrial automation, preferably in a senior or lead capacity.3+ years experience in a GMP regulated environment (Pharma, Life Sciences, Biotech or Medical Devices manufacturing).Expertise in Allen Bradley systems, including servo motion control and FactoryTalk View ME/SE.Strong grasp of Ethernet/IP, IO-Link and other industrial communication protocols.Familiarity with robotics and vision system integration is an advantage.Experience in designing SCADA/HMI systems is desirable.Understanding of regulatory compliance and documentation standards for pharmaceutical-grade automation projects.Ability to interpret electrical, pneumatic and system-level schematics.Effective communication with strong organizational and analytical abilities.Person ProfileBachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation, Systems Engineering or related field.Minimum 5 years post-graduate experience in Controls, Automation or Systems Engineering; at least 3 years in a GMP environment (Pharma, Life Sciences, Biotech or Medical Devices).Strong stakeholder and relationship management skills; comfortable with client-facing aspects of the role.Excellent communication, project management and attention to detail.Location & AvailabilityThe role is based in Dublin with a significant onsite element.Remote working is not available.About NNITNNIT is a publicly listed company that provides IT solutions to life sciences, public and enterprise sectors.We support high-regulatory and complex environments with sustainable digital solutions.NNIT and its subsidiaries employ more than 1,800 people in Europe, Asia, and the USA.We are committed to diversity and inclusion and encourage all qualified candidates to apply regardless of gender, age, religion, sexual orientation, national or social origin, political opinion, disability, race, or ethnicity.We ask candidates to refrain from including pictures in applications.Learn more about working at NNIT.Apply now and liberate your talent#J-*****-Ljbffr
