Managing Director, MRS-Global Markets, Ireland Overall responsibility for growing MRS-GM's presence in the Irish market.
Ensure effective underwriting and distribution teams that support and comply with the business plan for Ireland, with profitable underwriting of Lines of Business.
Generate maximum return on investment while maintaining our reputation and integrity, demonstrating care for clients and respecting regulatory obligations.
Responsibilities General Responsibility Collaborate with the CEO MRS-GM Europe and Senior Management to create and execute a scalable and sustainable strategy for Ireland, aiming to grow the business to EUR ~50m in 5 years.
Strengthen relationships with brokers and explore new ones to drive business inflow.
Develop the local team and build underwriting and distribution capabilities.
Refine operational models for scalability and efficiency in line with European standards.
Engage with international and Munich stakeholders to ensure best practices are known and applied.
Leadership Represent MRS-GM as the face and voice of the Irish business.
Lead, motivate, and develop staff to execute the Irish business strategy.
Coordinate underwriting and distribution teams to meet objectives, operational, and regulatory standards.
Share knowledge and industry best practices within the European setup.
Business Development Strengthen existing and develop new broker and client relationships, including Great Lakes.
Maintain awareness of market developments through peer relationships.
Produce regular management reports.
Ensure compliance with procedures and conduct peer reviews.
Promote good conduct to deliver optimal client outcomes.
Skills & Experiences Required Proven leadership in primary insurance, with a track record in business development and delivering results.
Well-connected within the Irish insurance market, with strong broker relationships.
Knowledge of regulated financial services and ability to become an approved person.
Entrepreneurial, curious, and innovative mindset.
Market awareness and ability to implement positive changes.
Strategic thinker capable of inspiring teams and gaining credibility.
Multicultural mindset with excellent management skills and emotional intelligence.
Solution-oriented, commercial approach.
Strong judgment and problem-solving skills.
Fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus.
University degree and/or relevant professional qualifications.
