About The Role
Join The Well Pet Hospital, a leading small animal veterinary hospital in Sligo, as a Veterinary Surgeon on a fixed-term contract.
We are seeking a confident, skilled vet to deliver exceptional care across consultations, surgical procedures, inpatient management, and emergency cases.
You will work 4 days a week with one weekend shift/on-call every five weeks, supporting a vibrant team committed to compassionate, high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities
Perform diagnostic assessments and detailed treatment planning
Conduct routine small animal surgeries and dentistry procedures
Deliver consults with proficiency and empathy
Manage inpatients, emergencies, and intensive care cases
Collaborate effectively with colleagues and communicate clearly with clients
Confidently work both sole charge and as part of a multidisciplinary team
What We're Looking For
VCI registered veterinary surgeon eligible to work in Ireland
Competent in routine and small animal surgery
Strong diagnostic and treatment planning skills
Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
Not suitable for new graduates or vets requiring extensive supervision
Interest or proficiency in dentistry is preferred but not essential

You'll be joining a supportive, skilled team of 5 vets, 5 nurses and 3 support staff, including speciailists with certifications in dermatology and western herbal medicine.
We offer a balanced 4-day working week with one weekend shifts every 5 weeks, fostering a healthy work-life balance while encouraging your professional growth and development.
