Director of Nursing Role We are currently seeking a dedicated Director of Nursing for a purpose-built nursing home located in the quiet, discreet grounds on the outskirts of Co. Louth.
The facility has been recognized with the 2017 Q Mark Award and was nominated for the Excellence Ireland Q Mark Irish Nursing Home of the Year Award in 2017.

Main duties & responsibilities include: Ensuring residents receive an excellent standard of care.
Maintaining compliance with regulations and striving to exceed standards.
Assessing the social and healthcare needs of new clients.
Conducting ongoing assessments and reviews of all clients.
Maintaining optimal occupancy levels through liaising with referrers and the Operations Manager.
Meeting all aspects of clients' care needs, providing health supervision, and coordinating with GPs, Public Health Nurses, and other medical services.
Upholding the quality of each client's life by respecting privacy, dignity, autonomy, rights, and fulfillment.
Developing social and leisure activities to enhance residents' quality of life.
Maintaining and improving professional knowledge and competence.
Training and mentoring junior staff to ensure high standards.
Providing induction training for new staff members.
Supporting staff development through recognized training courses.
Managing staff rotas and recruitment with approval from the CEO.
Handling disciplinary procedures with proper documentation.
Participating in staff meetings and training activities.
Reviewing and maintaining routines within the home.
Ensuring cleanliness, maintenance, and proper heating of rooms and common areas.
Meeting dietary and nutritional needs.
Maintaining nursing, care, and drug records as per An Bord Altranais requirements.
Overseeing drug ordering, storage, administration, and record-keeping.
