Health And Safety Officer – Dublin 22

Ayrton Group are seeking a Health and Safety Officer for a residential construction project based in the Dublin 22 region.
The Health and Safety Officer will be responsible for advising on overall compliance in matters of Health & Safety in accordance with client policies and relevant statutory provisions.
The HSO must lead by example and serve as a role model in mobilising the team and ensuring the highest standards of Health & Safety are adopted on-site.
This is an initial 12-month contract role with the potential for extension.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct regular site audits and inspections as directed in the Safety Management System.
Keep records of statutory inspections for all activities and plant equipment.
Advise and instruct on safety topics (noise levels, machinery use, etc.).
Assist Site Management with drafting and communicating Method Statements.
Review and update policies according to legislation.
Inspect premises and personnel work to identify issues or non-conformity (e.g., PPE usage).
Report incidents and near misses, follow up with root cause analysis and preventive actions.
Review subcontractor Safety Statements and Safety Compliance.
Review Safe Work Plans for on-site tasks.
Manage Health & Safety documentation on-site.
Recommend PPE for on-site employees.
Deliver Health & Safety inductions for new employees and contractors.
Conduct Toolbox Talks as required.
Key Requirements:
Level 6 or Level 7 qualification in Health and Safety.
At least 1 year of experience in a safety role on-site preferred.
Construction experience required.
Safe Pass and Manual Handling certification required.
Ability to work independently and innovatively.
Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
Legally permitted to live and work in Ireland.
