Job Title: Apprentice CarpenterLocation: Galway City, IrelandJob Type: Full-Time ApprenticeshipStart Date: Immediate / NegotiableSalary: In line with SOLAS apprenticeship rates (based on experience & phase)Job Description:We are currently seeking a motivated and reliable Apprentice Carpenter to join our team in Galway City.This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin or continue their carpentry apprenticeship, gain hands-on experience, and work towards a National Craft Certificate under the SOLAS apprenticeship programme.As an apprentice, you will work closely with qualified carpenters on a range of residential and commercial projects, developing your skills in both first fix and second fix carpentry, while learning to read drawings, handle tools safely, and work to a high standard.Key Responsibilities:Assist with the construction, installation, and repair of wooden structures and fittingsLearn to read and interpret drawings and specificationsMeasure, mark, cut, and assemble timber and other materials under supervisionSupport the team in tasks such as fitting doors, floors, skirting, stairs, and roofsFollow all health and safety regulations on-siteMaintain a clean and organised work areaAttend and complete all phases of off-the-job training (as scheduled by SOLAS)Show a willingness to learn, ask questions, and improve skills over timeRequirements:Must be eligible for the SOLAS Carpentry & Joinery Apprenticeship ProgrammeGenuine interest in the carpentry trade and construction industryGood work ethic, punctuality, and positive attitudeAbility to work well as part of a team and take instructionSafe Pass and Manual Handling Certificate (required before site work begins)Leaving Certificate or equivalent (preferred but not essential)Based in or able to commute to Galway CityWhat We Offer:Structured 4-year apprenticeship with on-the-job and off-the-job trainingMentorship and guidance from experienced qualified carpentersVariety of work across different sites and projectsOpportunity to gain a recognised National Craft CertificateSupportive work environment focused on learning and safetyJob Types: Full-time, Permanent, ApprenticeshipPay: €15,******-€41,****** per yearWork Location: On the road
