Quality Control Technician (One Year Fixed Term Contract)
Location: SMARTPLY, Waterford, Ireland
Key Responsibilities
Monitor production processes to ensure they adhere to quality standards and provide feedback to production teams
Work closely with production teams, process engineers, and supervisors to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions
Conduct product testing, inputting data into the database, and analysing quality results to ensure compliance with internal and external quality standards.
Support R&D and innovation projects, Plan, Test and Report.
Support cross-functional teams across departments driving performance excellence, innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.
Document any noncompliance and ensure that recorded compliance issues are resolved and corrected.
Assist with technical administration functions via Q-Pulse as required
Ensure 6S is applied to all work areas and equipment.
Support environmental department with the monitoring and testing of water samples across the site.
Improve product guidelines / documentation and standard work procedures
Assist external testing requirements for new products.
Ensure testing, measuring and monitoring equipment is regularly calibrated and maintained as per Smartply calibration schedule
Conduct Internal IMS audits as part of Smartply auditing schedule
Promote a culture of Quality within MEDITE SMARTPLY
Typical Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience
Third level qualification in a relevant science or Engineering discipline or equivalent experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
A strong track record of team working in quality control is essential
Excellent communication, organisational & interpersonal skills required
Self-motivated and enthusiastic with the ability to work on one's own initiative
Creativity, Flexibility, analytical thinking and attention to detail
Must be willing to work a rotational schedule including day and evening shifts.
Must be willing and able to work at our MEDITE MDF facility as required, with flexibility to travel between sites.
