Medforce Healthcare Recruitment is seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) for a luxurious, custom - designed, nursing home and one of our most popular nursing and residential homes located in Co. Sligo. The position of Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) is a senior clinical role reporting directly to the Director of Nursing. The ADON will be responsible for providing clinical leadership, overseeing day-to-day clinical practices within the home, managing staff rostering, delegation, supervision, performance and development, as well as ensuring clinical governance and risk assessments are effectively carried out. Working collaboratively with the DON and Healthcare Manager as part of the senior management team, the ADON will provide clear communication and direction, and deputise for the DON as required. The position reports to the Director of Nursing/Person in Charge. Requirements Currently registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) on the register of nurses held by Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland or be entitled to be so registered. Minimum 3 years of relevant ADON or acting ADON experience is desirable. Have depth knowledge of the ageing process. Post - registration management qualification. Qualification in Gerontology and/or Dementia would be desirable. Demonstrate an ability to embrace change and be committed to continuous improvement and learning throughout the residential care home. Working knowledge of HIQA standards, procedures, and guidelines. Have the skill to influence others, build constructive relationships and achieve outcomes. Appreciation of finance issues.
