The Role
We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic QA Team Lead to join our Connectivity Test team, as this team expands to support Cubic's increasing customer and solutions portfolio.
The Connectivity Test team is responsible for the Quality Assurance of Cubic's global mobile network connectivity services within our Cubic3 Cloud product.
This is a key role within Cubic's Engineering organisation, with touch point across over 500 mobile networks across the globe, delivering state-of-the-art technology projects with global connectivity reach for the automotive, agriculture and transport industries.
In this role you will:
Lead the team responsible for testing the mobile connectivity stack including voice, data, SMS, SIM provisioning and roaming.
Ensure robust, high-quality deployments that support seamless network connectivity for our customer across various geographies.
Lead, mentor, and manage a small team of QA engineers focused in MVNO connectivity testing.
Design and maintain test strategies and plan for mobile core network components including HLR/HSS and MNO roaming integrations.
Oversee end-to-end testing of mobile services (voice, SMS, data), roaming scenarios and SIM lifecycle management.
Collaborate closely with development, network engineering and product teams to understand requirements and test coverage.
Implement and optimise test automation frameworks for mobile connectivity and OTA processes.
Ensure timely and thorough execution of test cycles.
Drive root cause analysis of defects and work with cross-functional teams to ensure resolution.
Own and report on QA KPIs (e.g test coverage, defect leakage. Test execution progress)

Required Skills
Third level qualification in a technology discipline such as engineering, computer science or a similar discipline
5+ years of experience in telecom QA with 2+ years in a leadership or team lead role.
Strong understanding of mobile network architecture (2G/3G/4G/5G) and SIM provisioning.
Experience testing mobile services (Voice, SMS, Data), eSIMs and roaming scenarios.
Familiarity with tools such as Wireshark, CSG, Sigos, SIM OTA platforms and network simulators.
Familiarity with frameworks such as SpecFlow and Nunit
Ability to design, develop, and maintain automated tests for functional, regression, and integration testing.
Experience integrating automated tests into a continuous automated environment
Knowledge of best practices including test data management, test case design, and reporting.
Ability to analyse test failures, debug issues, and improve test reliability.
Guide and mentor the team in developing and maintaining automated tests
Proficiency in languages commonly used for automation (e.g., C#, Java, Python).
Proactive and open-minded person with analytical & problem-solving thinking
Fast learner who likes to deep-dive within multiple technologies
Quality focused individual with curiosity for technology
Ability to work unsupervised and take responsibility for the completion of tasks.
Effective communication skills

Experience using Atlassian tools, e.g., Confluence, Jira
Experience working on Kanban model to deliver results
