Sector: Planning & Environmental Consultancy About the Company Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well-established planning and environmental consultancy, operating since 2008, with a strong reputation in infrastructure sectors-particularly renewable energy and wireless telecommunications.
With offices in Ireland and the UK, they are experiencing sustained growth and are offering an exciting opportunity for a planning professional to join their Galway office.

The Role The successful candidate will manage a range of infrastructure planning applications and play a key role in guiding and mentoring junior team members.
This role offers real responsibility, client exposure, and a chance to contribute directly to impactful national projects in a fast-paced consultancy setting.
Key Responsibilities Prepare and lead on a wide range of planning applicationsWrite detailed planning reports and advise planning authoritiesManage multi-disciplinary project teams, stakeholder engagement, and budgetsAct as primary point of contact for clients throughout project lifecyclesUndertake research, desk studies, site visits, and planning assessmentsAnalyse planning policy and provide strategic recommendationsLiaise with planning authorities and statutory bodiesMentor and support junior staffAttend meetings with clients, project teams, and stakeholdersCandidate Profile The ideal candidate will have:
Minimum of 3 years' post-graduate experience in the public or private sectorA recognised RTPI or IPI planning qualificationStrong knowledge of the Irish planning system (UK experience also considered)Excellent report writing and project management skillsA solution-focused approach and ability to meet project deadlinesConfident communication and presentation skillsStrong analytical and IT skillsHighly motivated, ambitious, and capable of handling multiple projectsAbility to collaborate effectively with internal and external teamsFull driving licence and access to own vehicleWhat's on Offer Competitive salary and benefitsFlexible working arrangements (office-based, hybrid, or fully remote)Exposure to a wide range of infrastructure projectsOpportunity to take on significant responsibility and leadershipClear career development pathway within a growing consultancyInterested?
