What's the Role and Service?
As an IT Administrator with Barnardos, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our national IT infrastructure, supporting both cloud-based and on-premises systems.
You will be the first point of contact for technical support across the organisation, delivering timely and effective solutions to staff and vendors in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
This role offers flexibility in location and can be based at one of our service centres in Cork, Tipperary, or Waterford, with occasional travel to other Barnardos sites as required.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing hands-on support for Barnardos' hybrid IT environment, including Office365, Azure, VMWare, and Veeam
Responding to helpdesk queries via phone, chat, and ticketing system, ensuring issues are resolved within agreed SLAs
Deploying and maintaining laptops, mobile devices, and multi-function printers
Troubleshooting hardware and software issues remotely and on-site
Supporting senior engineers on IT projects and contributing to system improvements
Documenting troubleshooting steps and building a robust internal knowledge base
Performing system maintenance, backups, restores, and user account management via Active Directory
Delivering basic IT training and support to staff across national services
Monitoring alerts and proactively addressing potential issues
Assisting with equipment transport and setup in line with Barnardos Health & Safety Policy

What experience do I need?
2 years' experience in a similar role
A working ability in IT Systems and applications is essential
Experience with Office365, Azure, VMWare & Veeam is advantageous.
Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
Fluent written and oral English
Awareness of confidentiality and the ability to deal with sensitive queries
Teamwork required and the ability to work in collaboration with others
Ability to work on own initiative and to consult where appropriate
Flexibility and adaptability in terms of tasks and time is essential for this post.
High degree of technical aptitude and ability to learn on the job.
Qualifications:
Minimum of a QQI Level 6 in IT or equivalent IT industry certification(s).
This is a hybrid role.
You will be required to be onsite for a minimum of 2 days per week.
Full clean driving licence and access to a suitably insured vehicle required.
The willingness and ability to travel throughout Ireland is essential.
