OverviewHome Care Support Workers required to provide care and support for people in their own homes.RequirementsEssential:Own transport and full clean driving license.Relevant Qualification:Fetac Level 5 or QQI Level 5 Healthcare Support, equivalent or higher.Must have a minimum of the following modules completed and passed: Care of the Older Person and Care Skills.Location:Dublin 15Rates of Pay:€*****–€***** per hour.PREMIUM PAY RATES are paid for evening and weekend hours worked.Hours:Evenings Monday to Friday and WeekendsKey Responsibility:To provide a service to Service Users that enables them to lead as independent a lifestyle as possible.LocationDublin 15Why this roleBecome part of a professional team of carers who empower local people to remain independent in their own homes.Benefits and EnvironmentProviding care in the community for over 21 years.We offer a range of contracts based on your availability to work, including guaranteed hours contracts if that is what you would prefer.We will support you in getting further qualifications and provide all mandatory training you need to start and excel in your career as a carer.Supportive working environment with supervisory and administration teams available to assist queries; uniforms are provided.ResponsibilitiesTreat Service Users with dignity, sensitivity and respect.Listen, talk to and get to know Service Users.Explain the Company's policies and procedures to Service Users.Encourage Service Users to have an input into care provision.Help Service Users be safe, happy and enjoy as much as possible.Encourage Service Users to express feelings, fears and experiences openly.Respect Service Users' privacy in bathrooms and in personal care where applicable.Dress, undress and prepare Service Users for trips out.Wash, bathe, shower, shave, groom and assist with cleaning teeth as required.Wash and brush hair; take care of nails (fingernails only).Assist with toileting and all aspects of personal hygiene.Help Service Users in and out of bed safely.Assist with Aids to Daily Living/ Rehabilitation Aids as required.Support rehabilitation programmes as prescribed by healthcare professionals.Respond to complaints or allegations appropriately.Maintain confidentiality and understand the difference between confidentiality and secrecy.Be sensitive to vulnerable Service Users and those with special needs.Prepare snacks and meals according to Service Users' preferences.Assist with feeding as required.Carry out general cleaning duties (cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, polishing).Bed making, laundering, hand-washing, ironing and light needlework as required.Shopping, prepare shopping lists and assist with budgeting.Assist with personal finances, including paying bills and collecting pensions in some circumstances.Cook nutritious meals if required.Willingness to undertake Garda Vetting and hold a Clean Garda Clearance Certificate.Own transport and full clean driving license.Minimum of two former employer references.Proof of relevant qualifications (Fetac/QQI Level 5 with Care of the Older Person and Care Skills).Fitness to Work Certificate from GP; good general health and willingness to undergo a medical if required.Empathy with fellow Home Care Support Workers and those receiving care.Excellent communication skills and use of the English language; good listening and sensitivity in giving emotional support.A helpful manner and ability to communicate with people from different backgrounds.Ability to give physical and personal care (e.g., toileting, washing and feeding).Willingness to help with domestic duties, including cooking, if required in the Care Plans.Ability to build relationships with service users, their families, colleagues and other healthcare professionals, and help Service Users maintain social links where possible.Ability to work in a team and report observations affecting a Service User's circumstances to Management.Respect for confidentiality at all times.Ability to work alone, use initiative and be mindful of health and safety at all times.Experience of being in a caring situation.Next stepsTake The Next Step In Your Career – Apply NowExperience and ApplicationHave you worked in a carer role before?Have you a car and a valid driver's license?Have you completed QQI Care Skills and Care of the Older Person?Are you willing to undertake ongoing training?CV UploadPlease upload your CV in PDF or Word format.Please upload your cover letter in PDF or Word format.#J-*****-Ljbffr
