Bristol Myers Squibb is looking for an experienced sourcing and contracting professional to join its Agile Sourcing team.
We are a global BioPharma company focused on discovering, developing and delivering innovative medicines.
We are seeking someone who can operate effectively in a fast-paced, adaptive culture and lead changes in source-to-contract operations across multiple categories and regions.
Key Responsibilities
Source, onboard, lead, manage and develop a team of professionals in support of source-to-contract operations across multiple categories
Oversee end-to-end sourcing and contracting process across assigned categories
Lead procurement planning and contracting strategies aligned to organizational objectives
Develop and execute sourcing events and proposals with appropriate specifications, terms, and conditions
Apply quality assurance to monitor team and individual performance and route only appropriate escalations to legal and global category managers
Act as escalation point within the Agile Sourcing Ops team to provide guidance on substantive sourcing and contracting issues
Maintain awareness of pre-contracting steps and BMS policies related to contracts
Support execution and project management of broader programs impacting the team
Partner with adjacent stakeholders and deliver on complex, high-risk issues or projects
Act as trusted advisor to global category managers and leadership to ensure procurement strategies meet business expectations
Lead complex sourcing events and contract negotiations with stakeholders, category managers, legal and subject matter experts
Coordinate with functions across BMS to facilitate timely, compliant contracts
Performance & Continuous Improvement
Review team performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement in sourcing and contracting
Share best practices across the Agile Sourcing team to meet business needs in a standardized, compliant manner
Collaborate with procurement and legal to improve contracting processes, template language, and negotiation guidance
Participate in or lead continuous improvement initiatives and explore AI/ML opportunities in procurement
Develop, review, and analyze SLAs, KPIs and other metrics to support business planning and inform decisions
Qualifications & Experience
B.S./B.A. in Sciences; advanced degrees (e.g., JD, MBA, MS) preferred
8-10 years of relevant sourcing and contracting experience across direct and indirect categories, with familiarity of Master Services Agreements
3-5 years of direct people management experience leading cross-functional, multicultural teams
Experience collaborating with global teams in a matrix environment
Expertise in procurement processes, contract lifecycle management, financial and market analysis, supplier management, and strategic planning
Experience with contract construction and negotiation in the pharma/biotech industry preferred
Proven leadership, coaching and development skills with a growth mindset
Strong written and oral communication and customer focus
Ability to navigate ambiguity and manage multiple demands while sustaining performance
Experience with Sourcing and CLM technology (e.g., ARIBA, Icertis)
