Role:The Sign Writer/ Print Production Operative will be highly motivated, driven, and experienced in a range of print production and finishing techniques/equipment, along with a track record of supervision.The role is best suited to an individual who is dynamic, adaptable, motivated, with high attention to detail/quality/cleanliness/safety, and driven to execute tasks/objectives, working closely with the centre manager, sales, design, production, and wider management team to ensure deadlines are achieved and targets are met across the Snap Mayo territory.In this role, the Production Operative will ensure that all jobs are printed/finished to meet the specifications requested by the customer and maintain the high-quality standards that Snap insists on.They will also have a keen eye on pricing, to ensure the centre is fully optimized, operating with the best possible pricing for key stock items, and the machinery is fully utilised for maximum effectiveness with an eye on having the centre operating cost neutral.This individual will be a key member of the team and will assist management and the team by continually striving to improve the production process and the operation of the production centre.This individual will maintain a constant focus on optimising centre operations, identifying additional tasks, additional machinery/technology and responsibilities that can drive sales and revenue growth.They will also be encouraged to suggest new machinery or equipment that could enhance efficiency and improve profitability.Key Responsibilities:Supervise and lead production staff/operators, whereby the production team are productively effective during the working day.Lead the daily production meetingAssign tasks as required to meet business / production requirements and customer expected delivery dates.Read and interpret work docket instructions.Print/finish jobs to the highest quality standard, flagging any potential quality issues in advance with the sales team.Update job progress on Print Logic and ensure the full production team are operating to all company processes & standardsEnsure due dates of jobs are achieved and jobs are Packed and shipped (customer collection, courier, Snap delivery) when complete.Ensure Equipment is maintained and maintenance logs are updated.Quality check all parts of the jobs in line with Snap and customer requirements.Lead the production team with the print, quality control, and packing of the jobs.Assist Management and the wider team with storage and stock management within Print Logic.Assist the wider Production Team as and when required (dependent on the current production demands).Ensure the entire production area is kept clean and organsiedIn line with the Snap Safety Statement, safety is paramount.A safe environment must be maintained for both staff and clients at all timesThis includes ensuring the centre operates in accordance with all relevant legislation and that safe working practices are consistently followed by all staff on the premises.To ensure the security of the building is maintained at all times, door/windows fully closed/locked end of day and alarm is set when centre is closed.Ensure all print ready supplied artwork, is checked, archived and prepared for print on a daily basisLiaise with design and assist when required to ensure design work is completed and passed to production in the correct formatEnsure all jobs on in the design schedule are scheduled and progressing to meet agreed due dates.Provide cover and guidance to graphic designers as required.Carry out any other tasks as required by management.Key Attributes:It is a must that the individual is highly organised with the ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously to accomplish goals, establishes efficient work procedures to meet objectives and be skilled in prioritising and meeting deadlines.A problem solver, who can address issues in a professional mannerA person that is commercially savvy in terms of the commercial effectiveness of the centre, who is willing to take on new tasks & processes to ensure the centre is fully optimised.A person with a colleagues and customers in a calm and professional manner.A positive, can-do attitude and dedicated to going above and beyond.Key Requirements:Supervisory experience in the Print industry essential.At least 4 years' experience in a similar production role.Proven experience using Print Logic is essential — the successful candidate should demonstrate a strong working knowledge of the system, going beyond basic functionality to include reporting, job management, pricing, and workflow optimisation.Excellent communication skills, professional manner and customer focus are essential.Strong understanding and ability to ensure standards and processes of Quality (ISO standard), Health, Safety and Environment are upheld.Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suites and ability to run reports as required.A strong working background, fluent in English and a clean driving license.Desire to learn/take feedback & improve the performance of the centre across these key areas:A) Production effectiveness.B) Effectiveness of the full production team.C) Revenue through the production centre.D) Profitability of the production centre.The above job description is designed
