Data Scientist

We are recruiting a Data Scientist, it's a full time 37.5 hour position.Musgrave is one of Europe's most successful family-owned businesses with a 140-year heritage in food and brand innovation, supporting communities across the island of Ireland and Spain.Every day we feed one in three people in Ireland through 11 market leading food and beverage brands that include SuperValu, Centra, Frank and Honest and Musgrave Market Place.We are proud to support thousands of retail and foodservice family businesses who live and work in the heart of the communities they serve.Our Data and Analytics team is expanding, and we are looking for passionate and talented Data Scientists to join the team and make Musgrave a truly data driven company.You will use advanced analytics and big data technologies to drive better actions for our business; personalising customer's needs across all channels, implementing more efficient processes, optimising marketing spend and driving new data-based income streams.What you'll be doing:Reporting to Data Analytics Manager and working across Retail, Wholesale and Support areas.Use abstract thinking and problem-solving skills to identify business opportunities and pinpoint problemsDrive data science initiatives requiring a variety of analytical and business skills across our business, including customer behaviour, segmentation, loyalty, marketing, media, online and trading.Provide business partners with data driven insights to streamline processes, generate revenue and improve bottom line performance.Clearly and concisely explain technical findings to non-analytical peers and business stakeholders.Utilise best in class data mining and statistical techniques to derive business value from store, product, operations, financial, and customer transactional data.Support our personalisation, data monetisation and business agendas by using advanced techniques to deeply understand customer behaviours/needs, evolving customer trends, and providing tailored shopper experiences consistently across all channels.Provide a strong data-driven voice to the rest of the business and be an advocate for using analytics to solve problems and create business value.Able to coach, develop and lead Graduates and Junior Data ScientistsWhat we're looking for:3 – 5 years' experience in a similar role.Passionate about using data, analytics and AI to drive business performanceProven track record of using advanced solutions that have transformed business performance.Ability to query large data sets using SQL with experience with cloud-based environments an advantageProficient in using Python or R.Experience applying computational algorithms and statistical methods to structured and unstructured data.Experience with exploring and developing solutions in Databricks is a plus.Experience combining analytic methods with advanced data visualizations.Ability to breakdown and clearly define problems.Demonstrated ability to own and deliver projects that deliver real business value.Strong communication, presentation and influencing skills.A third level qualification in Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science (or equivalent qualification), preferably at post-graduation level.Experience coaching or mentoring data scientists or analystsWhat we Offer or Why Musgrave:Career Development:With a commitment to your personal and professional growth, Musgrave offers numerous opportunities for advancement and learning.Collaborative Environment:Work alongside a passionate team, where your contributions will make a significant impactInnovation Focus:Be part of a company that values forward-thinking solutionsCommunity Focus: Be part of a company that truly values its communities and strives to make a positive impact.Be Part of a Legacy: Join a company with a long-standing commitment to community and innovation.Are you ready to make a difference?Apply now and join is in creating a future where business success and positive change go hand in handWork location is flexible in the republic of Ireland.We have offices in Cork and Dublin.Work Smart hybrid work arrangement applies for this role.Frequent travel to Cork.Musgrave is an equal opportunities employer.We encourage applications from diverse candidates.If we can make any accommodations to enable you to be the best version of yourself during the interview, please let us know.Musgrave operate a Work Smart hybrid working model where you can alternate your time between connecting and collaborating in the business and working remotely.Occasional business travel to other locations will also be required#J-*****-Ljbffr
