Freelance Consulting Opportunity – Structural Heart Medical Device Consultant Galway-based
Location: Galway, Ireland (On-site)
Availability: Minimum 3 days per week
Contract: Freelance / Independent Consultant
We're seeking a
highly experienced Structural Heart Medical Device Consultant
for a
freelance role
supporting a cutting-edge medical device team at both
pre-clinical and clinical stages
of development.
This role is ideal for a
strategic yet hands-on thinker
who is passionate about improving patient outcomes and who brings a strong understanding of both
catheter-based procedures
and
imaging techniques
.
You must be
procedure- and patient-focused
, with the ability to visualize device interaction with the anatomy and influence design and procedural methodology.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide strategic and technical input across
pre-clinical and clinical development stages
Support design, iteration, and validation of structural heart devices
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine procedural strategies
Assess device fit and function using advanced imaging and anatomical understanding
Translate clinical and procedural insights into practical, actionable improvements
Identify opportunities to amend or improve existing protocols
Contribute to the development of novel methodologies and approaches
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Based in
Galway
, available
minimum 3 days per week
Proven experience with
structural heart devices
in
pre-clinical and clinical settings
Strong knowledge of
catheterization procedures
Deep expertise in
imaging modalities
Able to
visualize and evaluate device fit
in complex anatomical structures
Forward-thinking – actively challenges and evolves protocols
Combines
strategic vision
with a
hands-on, problem-solving approach
Comfortable working in fast-paced, cross-functional environments
