Job Title: Sales Assistant Location: McMahon Shoes, Thurles Hours: Full-time 31.2 hours per week About the Role McMahon Shoes is seeking a motivated, reliable, and customer-focused Sales Assistant to join our team in Thurles. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, inventive in their approach to work, and committed to delivering excellent customer service. This role may involve occasional travel to support our other store locations, including Clonmel and Tipperary Town (approximately 25 miles away). The position includes Saturday work, and weekend availability (excluding Sundays) is required, except for the two weeks leading up to Christmas, when Sunday work may be necessary. Key Responsibilities Provide friendly, professional, and knowledgeable customer service at all times Assist customers in choosing products, answering queries, and offering product advice Maintain high standards of store presentation, cleanliness, and merchandising Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently Support stock management, including receiving, organising, and replenishing stock Work as part of a team to achieve sales targets and maintain a positive store environment Travel to support other McMahon Shoes locations when required Requirements Previous retail or customer service experience is preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and good problem-solving abilities Ability to work independently and as part of a team Full, clean driving licence and access to a car (required for travel between stores) Flexibility to work weekdays, Saturdays, and peak retail periods, including limited Sunday work before Christmas What We Offer A supportive and friendly team environment Opportunities for skill development and career progression Stable hours with a structured weekly schedule
