THE ROLE
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, the Financial Accountant is responsible for managing the financial and tax compliance processes across the business – PRSI, PAYE, RCT and VAT.
The Financial Accountant must oversee the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes ensuring payments are made and received as per schedule.
The role also includes coordinating and managing the month-end processes.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
ACA, ACCA, FCA or CPA Qualified
Strong technical accounting skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) & Financial Management Systems
Excellent organisational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines
Ability to work independently, multitask, and problem solve
Willingness to learn, progress, and take responsibility
Strong interpersonal, communication, and reporting skills
Ability to prioritise tasks and manage workload effectively
Flexible, adaptable, and proactive attitude
Excellent time management, attention to detail, and reliability
Proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships and act as a trusted advisor to managers
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and mentor the finance team
Oversee monthly management accounts, including analysis of Balance Sheet and Income Statement, budgets, and cash flow
Manage key control processes, ensuring they are effective and documented
Ensure accuracy and compliance of financial data with GDPR
Coordinate internal and external audits
Reconcile the company's internal system with finance data, investigating discrepancies
Develop relationships with various teams to understand customer dynamics
Champion continuous improvement of finance processes and systems
Support the Financial Controller with financial forecasts, budgets, and plans
Participate in ad hoc projects, taking ownership as needed
Maintain compliance with all legislative and regulatory requirements (PRSI, PAYE, VAT, RCT)
Conduct reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and resolve issues promptly
Create and manage reports, providing insights and recommendations to support business operations and cost reduction
