Senior Project Manager (Permanent - Hybrid)

The Role: We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Data Practice within the Digital Services department, partnering with prominent public sector organizations across Ireland to drive impactful digital transformation projects.
Our Data & AI practice projects include data migration, data engineering (ingestion and integration), data analytics, advanced and predictive analytics, data science (ML & AI), generative AI in data analytics, and business intelligence.
Reporting to the Head of Digital Services, you will lead cross-functional teams in project planning and execution, delivering outstanding results for our clients.
This position combines strategic resource management with hands-on project leadership, focusing on process improvement and performance optimization to create exceptional value across our portfolio.
In particular we are looking for candidates with strong customer management skills with experience of overcoming obstacles and building trust and mutual respect with customers, while maintaining high quality project deliveries.
Responsibilities
Oversee end-to-end project delivery, from scoping and planning through to execution, reporting, and closure.
Define project objectives and deliverables, aligning team activities and managing communications with stakeholders to ensure timely, within-budget, high-quality outcomes.
Drive issue resolution, facilitate change management, and manage project releases.
Proactively assess upcoming project needs and forecast resources demands based on project priorities, timelines, and skill requirements to ensure timely and efficient delivery of projects as well as utilization of resources across the practice.
Regularly review resource capacity and adjust forecasts and allocations in collaboration with practice lead, and other project managers to accommodate shifting project demands and mitigate potential resource shortages or overallocation.
Proactively manage project budgets, focusing on revenue generation and margin maximization across projects.
Implement financial controls and optimize project costs, ensuring adherence to billing, revenue and margin targets.
Ensure Adherence to PMO Standards and continuously refine delivery processes to uphold standards, driving consistency, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency across all projects.
Maintain strict oversight of Jira process standards and enhance project governance frameworks to ensure projects are delivered with maximum efficiency and accountability.
Contribute to practice-level strategy, ensuring projects are aligned with organizational objectives.
Produce regular performance reports, track key project and practice metrics, and identify opportunities for improvement across the portfolio.
Collaborate with public sector clients to understand their digital transformation goals, deliver value-driven projects, build strong relationships with key stakeholders, and support overall account growth through strategic alignment, communication, and identifying new opportunities.
Cultivate a positive, collaborative work environment by addressing team challenges and fostering open communication.
Lead initiatives to enhance employee engagement, support continuous learning, and encourage a culture of excellence.
Requirements
Experience
: 6+ years of experience in IT project management, with a proven record of successfully delivering complex projects, managing resources, and leading project teams
Expertise in Project & Resource Management
: Demonstrated ability in resource planning, budget management, and margin optimization, with a focus on maximizing project efficiency and delivering measurable customer benefits.
Advanced Project Management Knowledge
: In-depth understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall), reporting on key project KPIs, change management, and benefits realization.
Leadership & Communication Skills
: Exceptional leadership abilities, including strategic thinking, conflict resolution, negotiation, and strong relationship-building skills to engage effectively with clients, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
Technical Proficiency
: Proficient in MS Project and Jira, with experience delivering software development.
Experience with delivering data practice projects, including data engineering, analytics, AI/ML, generative AI, and business intelligence, is a plus.
Governance & Compliance
: Experience in project governance, including adherence to PMO standards, risk management, and contract/procurement management.
Certifications
: PMP (or equivalent) required; Change Management certification preferred.
Communication
: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to produce clear, actionable project documentation.
Location
: Must currently reside in Ireland.
