The AWS Cloud Engineer must be able operate independently with the ability to influence and coalesce with solution teams across the organization to help deliver engineering solutions to meet Pfizer's business objectives.
Role responsibilities
Responsibilities
Provide technical and design experience as part of the AWS Cloud Engineering role, ensuring Pfizer leverages cloud native design patterns aligned with modernization of new and existing projects.
Help ensure the Cloud Engineering team delivers a secure, compliant, productive, and innovative cloud hosting environment.
Design AWS cloud solutions and implement infrastructure as code capabilities, influencing how Pfizer Digital consumes and utilizes AWS hosting technologies at a global scale.
Develop and modernize AWS cloud capabilities; contribute to shaping AWS usage across all business lines.
Bring strong experience in an AWS infrastructure environment and in developing solutions using infrastructure as code.
Collaborate with cloud engineers, developers, and product teams to build native cloud capabilities for Pfizer.
Design and architect global standards for deployment and management of AWS.
Identify and proactively address continuous improvement initiatives within the AWS environment.
Basic qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a similar discipline.
3+ years of experience in an enterprise IT setting, preferably in a highly regulated industry such as banking/financial or healthcare/pharmaceutical.
Mid-level knowledge of and experience with AWS infrastructure development, implementation, and sustaining support.
Experience building and deploying cloud infrastructure using infrastructure as code capabilities such as Terraform.
Excellent communicator with an ability to influence across a large, complex, and matrixed organization; adept at managing priorities to maximize value for Pfizer.
Customer-centric mentality biased towards delivering value quickly.
Experience integrating application hosting needs with AWS infrastructure capabilities to build secure and well-architected solutions.
Demonstrated leadership capabilities including influencing, coaching, and guiding others to achieve meaningful outcomes.
Nice-to-have
Experience in a DevOps environment with expert-level knowledge in building, maintaining, and deploying infrastructure as code solutions.
Terraform and Ansible experience for infrastructure as code and configuration management.
Experience qualifying cloud services for use within a GxP regulated environment.
Cross-functional experience in managing cloud infrastructure, security, networking, and application development.
