Job description Who we are: We are a multi disciplined office in Galway City, providing a range of property services to property owners, and have interests in short term residential accommodation. Join the Team: We are seeking an experienced accounts person with a strong understanding of accounting principles and administrative focus to join our team. This is a full-time role over 3 to 5 days, where the candidate can split their time between home and our Eyre Square office once established in their new role. Flexible working hours will be considered. Job brief: The ideal candidate will be an experienced and detail orientated bookkeeper / accounts technician to manage the financial requirements of our portfolio of companies and clients. The candidate will be adaptable, highly organised, possesses strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work independently to deliver accurate and timely financial reports in a fast-paced environment. Role - Accounts responsibilities include: Managing obligations to suppliers, clients and third-party vendors Preparing financial statements showing business income and expenditure Processing payments, invoices, income and receipts and entering data into accounting software or databases then filing digital copies Month end accounts Prepare, process and submit VAT returns Perform accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including processing invoices, reconciling payments, and resolving discrepancies Conduct regular bank reconciliations to ensure precise transaction recording Prepare and maintain financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements Ensure compliance with all legal, fiscal, and best practice frameworks Collaborate with other team members to support financial decision-making Processing weekly and monthly payroll Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities Liaise with external auditors and provide necessary documentation and explanations. Contact clients and send reminders to ensure timely payments Requirements: Proven work experience in IRELAND as a Senior Book Keeper or Accounts Technician, 3 + years essential Good knowledge of bookkeeping procedures and debt collection regulations Hands-on experience with accounting software Advanced knowledge of Excel (using financial formulas and creating spreadsheets) Solid data entry skills with an ability to identify numerical errors Good organizational and time-management abilities Self-motivated with excellent attention to detail Strong commitment to professional and client service excellence Ability to work independently and as part of a team Excellent communication skills Qualifications: Proven experience as an Accounts Technician or Bookkeeper Proficiency in accounting software VAT, (BRC, Brightpay, etc.) Strong knowledge of accounting principles and best practices Benefits and Compensation: Competitive salary depending on experience Hybrid working arrangement available after initial two month period of 60% in office and 40% from home Flexible work hours. 24 hours a week 12 days of annual leave + bank holidays Ability to buy up to 5 days of annual leave to reach a maximum of 21 days per annum Business closure over Christmas Opportunities for career progression and professional development Paid study leave and exams Job Type: Full-time Benefits: Flexitime Work from home On-site parking Schedule: Monday to Friday (5 mornings or 3 days) Education: Advanced/Higher Certificate (preferred) Experience: Accounting: 3 years (required) Bookkeeping: 3 years (required) Administration: 3 years (required) Additional pay: Yearly bonus Skills: Book-keeping Bank Reconciliation VAT Year End Accounts Sales Ledger Management Ledger Accounting
