Initial Base: Clonskeagh Hospital Campus
Lucena Clinic provides a comprehensive Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service for young people with moderate to severe mental health disorders to defined catchment areas, with an under 18 population of 172,585, residing in South Dublin City and County plus North and West County Wicklow.
Clinical Teams are based throughout the catchment area operating clinics in Tallaght, Rathgar, Dun Laoghaire, Bray, Wicklow town and Arklow.
Clinical Nurse Specialist CAMHS-ID, Full Time (37.5hrs) Permanent
In collaboration with HSE Community Healthcare East Child and Adolescent Mental Health Intellectual Disability (CAMHS-ID) service, Saint John of God Community Mental Health Services are now inviting applications for the post of Clinical Nurse Specialist CAMHS-ID.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, flexible, innovative and committed to providing a quality mental health service that responds to the needs and priorities of our service users.
Role Summary
We are currently seeking to expand the CAMHS-ID community team by employing a dynamic and enthusiastic Clinical Nurse Specialist to work as part of a multidisciplinary mental health service for children and adolescents with a moderate to profound intellectual disability and a moderate to severe mental health disorder.
The CNS has a pivotal role in the delivery of effective, recovery orientated, high quality, team based, integrated care for individuals with both intellectual disabilities and mental disorder.
The purpose of the role is to provide assessment and support to the individual through the delivery of appropriate treatment and recovery orientated interventions, to support care in the community, working towards reduction in the need for acute hospitalisation.
Minimum Requirements
Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition must:
Be registered in the division(s) of the NMBI (Nursing Midwifery Board of Ireland) Register for which the application is being made or be entitled to be so registered (Mental Health).
OR In exceptional circumstances, which will be assessed on a case by case basis be registered in another Division of the register of Nurses and Midwives (Intellectual Disability).
AND Have a minimum of 1 year\'s post registration full time experience or an aggregate of 1 year\'s full time experience in the division of the register in which the application is being made (Mental Health or on a case by case basis Intellectual Disability).
AND Have a minimum of 1 year\'s experience or an aggregate of 1 year\'s full time experience in specialist area of CAMHS Care.
AND Have successfully completed a post registration programme of study, as certified by the education provider which verifies that the applicant has achieved a Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI), National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) major academic Level 9 or higher award that is relevant to the specialist area of care (equivalent to 60 ECTS or above), and in line with the requirements for specialist practice as set out by the National Council for Nursing and Midwifery 4th ed (2008).
AND Be required to demonstrate that they have continuing professional development (CPD) relevant to the specialist area.
AND Have the ability to practice safely and effectively fulfilling his/her professional responsibility within his/her scope of practice
Remuneration
Salary Grade 2625 CLINICAL NURSE SPECIALIST (MENTAL HEALTH) on the Consolidated HSE Pay Scale
€60,854 - €76,897 per annum pro rata
Initial location
The CAMHS ID service covers the entire population of HSE Community Healthcare East from Baggot Street in Dublin to Carnew in South Co Wicklow, a population circa .
The initial location of this role is the Clonskeagh Hospital campus (the hub for the service), although outreach across the catchment area in the form of domiciliary visits, school assessments and outreach clinics in Co Wicklow on a case by case basis may be required.
Full Irish Driving Licence essential.
