Purpose of the Role : This post will be committed to the development of the ANP service Childrens Emergency Department at CHI as the service ramps up to the new National Childrens Hospital and expands its nursing workforce. The new childrens hospital forms part of National Model of Care for Paediatric Healthcare Services in Ireland (HSE, 2016), in support of the delivery of safe and appropriate care to paediatric patients from birth. Essential Criteria: Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition will: Be a registered nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (Bord Altranais agus Cnimhseachais na hireann) or entitled to be so registered And Be registered in the General division for the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (Bord Altranais agus Cnimhseachais na hireann Register for which the application is being made or entitled to be so registered Or Be registered in the Childrens division of the nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (Bord Altranais agus Cnimhseachais na hireann) Register for which the application is being made or entitled to be so registered Have a broad base of clinical experience relevant to the advanced field of practice with a minimum of 3 years post registration experience in a Paediatric emergency setting or Paediatric unit (within the last 5 years) Be eligible to undertake a Masters Degree (or higher) in Nursing or a Masters Degree, which is relevant, or applicable to the advanced field of practice. The Masters programme must be a Level 9 on the National Framework of Qualifications (quality & Qualifications Ireland) or equivalent. Educational preparation must include at least three modular components pertaining to the relevant area of advanced practice, in addition to clinical practicum Or Be currently undertaking a Masters Degree in Nursing (Advanced Practice Pathway) or be eligible to register to undertake additional Level 9 National Framework of Qualifications (Quality and Qualifications Ireland) specific modules of a Masters Degree in Nursing (Advanced Practice Pathway) within an agreed timeframe. Educational preparation must include at least three modular components pertaining to the relevant area of advanced practice, in addition to clinical practicum Or Possess a Masters Degree (or Higher) in Nursing or a Masters Degree which is relevant, or applicable, to the advanced field of practice. The Masters programme must be a level 9 on the National Framework of Qualifications (Quality & Qualifications Ireland) or equivalent. Educational preparation must include at least three modular components pertaining to the relevant area of advanced practice, in addition to clinical practicum And Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability including a high standard of suitability and clinical, professional and administrative capacity to property discharge the functions of the role Annual Registration Practitioners must maintain live annual registration on the appropriate/relevant Division of the register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (Bord Altranais agus Cnimhseachais na hireann) for the role And Confirm annual registration with NMBI to the HSE by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC) Health & Safety These duties must be performed in accordance with the hospital health and safety policy. In carrying out these duties the employee must ensure that effective safety procedures are in place to comply with the Health, Safety and Welfare at Work Act.
