Childcare Assistant

Looking for Childcare Practitioner to join our growing Childcare Service.We are Community Service offering affordable childcare to children in the catchment area of Crooke, Passage, Faithlegg, Cheekpoint, Killea, Dunmore East & Dunmore Road.Our opening hours are 8.00am to 5.03pm.Our service offers Breakfast Club, ECCE Free Childcare, NCS Scheme and After School Care.Our service consists of 2 playrooms.Room 1 up to 22 children Pre-school.Room 2 Toddler Room up to 18 children.Job Title: Playgroup AssistantRole: Assisting in the day-to-day running of the PlaygroupReport to: ManagerDuties & Responsibilities· Helping to plan the daily activities of the playgroup· Setting out the room before each session· Leaving the playroom clean and tidy, after a playgroup session.· Ensuring the overall safety and well being of the children· Ensuring a good standard of hygiene· Ensuring that equipment is well maintained and safe to use· Advising the leader about any concerns about a child· Attending meetings when required· Attending relevant training· Performing other duties as required.Person specification· Level 5 or over childcare qualification or equivalent (eg NCVA, FETAC)· Experience in a playgroup setting is advantage· Good communication skills· Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations· Ability to work as part of an established team· Good time keeping· Appropriate dress required at all times· In all aspects of your service: Confidentiality is Paramount, any breach of confidentiality will be taken very seriously and may lead to disciplinary proceedings.Garda Vetting will be required for this positionJob Types: Full-time, Part-timePay: €*****-€***** per hourBenefits:On-site parkingEducation:Advanced/Higher Certificate (required)Experience:Childcare: 1 year (preferred)Work Location: In person
