The team:
We are the Risk Control Development Team, part of the ERM (Enterprise Risk Management) domain in the Risk and Buy-Side group within the global development department.
Our mission is to build and maintain risk control solutions for the MX platform to serve several different business processes (Credit Risk, Market Risk, P&L Validation) to enable clients to measure, monitor and control risk arising from their business activitiesto maximize gain and comply with regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
Design and Development:
Lead the design and development of backend systems using Java, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability.
Risk Control Solutions:
Develop and implement risk control solutions that monitor, detect, and mitigate potential risks in real-time, ensuring the desired functionality is delivered via high-quality, testable and maintainable code with best-practice design.
Team spirit & work practices:

Mentorship:
A major part of the role is to provide guidance and mentorship to talented junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement and helping them hone their development skills.

: Ability to learn new technologies, development practices and patterns.
Collaboration:
Work closely with front-end developers, data scientists, and risk analysts to integrate backend services with other components of the system.
Code Quality:
Maintain high standards of code quality through code reviews, unit testing, and continuous integration.
Documentation:
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all developed systems and applications.
Troubleshooting:
Identify and resolve performance and scalability issues in a timely manner.
Maintenance & Support:
Contribute to the ongoing support and maintenance of risk control solutions in place for 100+ of our existing clients, including bug fixes, performance analysis and supporting client services team.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Java backend development.Experience with 3-tier architecturesExperience with multi-threaded applications.Experience with distributed systemsPrevious experience in financial sector is a plus.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Java and related frameworks (e.g., Spring, Hibernate).Experience with RESTful API design and development.Strong understanding of SQL database technologies.Proficiency with Git or similar tools.Proficiency with testing frameworks (e.g.
Junit)Knowledge of security best practices and risk management principles.Experience with Continuous Integration (CI) tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
Soft Skills:
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Strong communication and collaboration abilities.Extensive experience with Agile methodologies, for example, Scrum or Kanban.Fluent English is essential.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.Display personal commitment, effort, motivation and initiative in all aspects of workWillingness to display flexibility in a fast-paced, ever-changing working environment is essential.
