Project Engineer

OverviewAtkinsRéalis is one of the world's leading providers of engineering professional consulting and support services, with offices across Ireland.We are currently seeking an experienced Deputy Project Manager / Project Engineer with relevant multidisciplinary project management, planning and design experience.The candidate will join our Project Management team within the broader Highways and Transportation team, to be based in our Dublin office.The candidate should be self-motivated, enthusiastic, hardworking, flexible, willing to take responsibility, and comfortable working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.This exciting role will provide you with the opportunity to work within multi-disciplinary teams on major infrastructure projects across a broad range of sectors including Energy, Rail, Active Travel and Highways.We are looking for individuals with excellent communication skills who can articulate complex information to a wide range of stakeholders in a manner which is clear and easy to understand.ResponsibilitiesCoordination and driving of team deliverables on multi-disciplinary projects.Making of technical decisions on projects, and review of technical reports prepared by others.Review of deliverables produced by other teams to ensure compliance / suitability for the overall project scope.Managing the design and/or planning process.Preparation of project progress reports, both internally and externally.Preparation and regular updating of project development plans / project charters.Chairing and minuting of meetings with clients, stakeholders, and project teams.Maintaining a high level of quality across projects.Desirable skills / attributesEducated to degree level 8/9 (engineering degree).Relevant experience in a consultancy environment.Chartered or close to achieving Chartership.Experience in the technical and project management delivery of multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects in Ireland.Experience in the full project development cycle including feasibility studies, preliminary design, planning, detailed design, tender document preparation and contract administration.Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and under own initiative to achieve project goals.Ability to coordinate multiple teams producing deliverables simultaneously across several projects.Computer literate with strong experience in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project (or similar scheduling software).Technical design experience and writing skills.Strong attention to detail particularly in preparing and reviewing complex planning documents and drawings.Full driving licence.Personal qualitiesExcellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.Flexible approach with the ability to multi-task and prioritise when necessary.Positive outlook and approachable manner.Well-motivated and able to work as part of a team or alone when required.Confidence to challenge the status quo and think outside the box.About UsAt AtkinsRéalis we put Environment, Sustainability and Health & Safety at the heart of our business strategy.We possess a significant breadth of knowledge and depth of skills and experience for the ultimate benefit of our clients.We build long-term trusted partnerships to create a world where lives are enriched through the implementation of our ideas.Together with our clients, we're always striving to find better ways to get things done.We are a certified CPD Accredited employer with Engineers Ireland and we were named Engineers Ireland CPD Employer of the year in ****.We are committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive community - a place where we can all be ourselves, thrive and develop.To help embed inclusion for all, from day one, we offer a range of family friendly, inclusive employment policies, flexible working arrangements and employee networks to support staff from different backgrounds.As an Equal Opportunities Employer, we value applications from all backgrounds, cultures, and ability.#J-*****-Ljbffr
