We are looking for an experienced Project Leader to join our initial Assessment team in Dublin south central, based in our head office on Christchurch Square. At the Barnardos Initial Assessment team for Dublin South Central, we undertake Initial Family Assessments in partnership with Tusla. Additionally, this service provides intensive family support for a small number of vulnerable families originally referred for Initial Assessment. What will my day to day look like? In this role, you will develop, manage, and ensure the delivery of Barnardos services conducted by the DSC Initial Assessment Team for children and parents in the DSC area, within the strategic direction of Barnardos and participate in the overall development of the team, region and organisation. You will be responsible for the following: Management: Manage a budget for the service, participate in budget planning and manage an approved budget(s) for your area of responsibility in line with Barnardos financial procedures Pursue funding opportunities to support the work and to prepare and submit funding proposals in consultation with the Assistant Director Undertake the duties of Designated Person for the project under the Children First National Guidelines for the Protection and Welfare of Children Ensure the protection and welfare of children is a primary concern of all staff and that, when child protection issues arise, Barnardos policies and procedures are fully adhered to Staff and Supervision: Manage the recruitment process for staff to the service Identify training needs are and addressed appropriately, ensuring learning is promoted within your area of responsibility Provide regular and professional supervision/appraisals for all staff, students and volunteers Delivery of Services: Ensure effective communication and referral pathways are in place and being effectively utilised and ensure quality and best standards are adhered to in all aspects of the work. Implement effective referral, assessment, planning and review processes are in place to meet the needs of children and families participating in the service. Maintain appropriate relationships with external agencies in order to ensure that the needs of children and families are met in an integrated and co-ordinated manner Ensure that legislation and statutory guidelines, organisational policy and the corporate plan are fully implemented within your area of responsibility Manage all KPI's, quantum's and requirements of the work are met and to support the team in doing this and understanding all requirements What experience do I need? A minimum of five years' post qualification experience in a similar role Ability to develop, manage and maintain complex internal and external relationships with a range of stakeholders Experience of Child Protection or Initial Assessment work is essential Prior management experience highly desirable Motivated individual with a drive to deliver high quality, efficient and effective practice for vulnerable families Additional information: A Full driving licence and access to the use of a suitably insured vehicle essential. The post-holder is initially assigned to work in the Dublin South Central Family Support Project but may be required in the future to work in other locations in the Dublin area in line with Organisational needs.
