QA Engineer – Our First QA hire – Fintech AI
At Narrative we build AI driven financial applications.
You will own day to day product quality, with test planning and execution as the core, and build out a suite of pragmatic automation solutions to keep releases safe.
You will work closely with developers and product, be entrepreneurial in nature, contribute to our quality culture, and help us prove reliability for clients and audits.
What you will do
Plan and run test cases for every new feature, acceptance criteria, edge cases, and regression scope, then sign off releases.
Log clear defects, triage with engineers, verify fixes, and improve requirement clarity.
Build and maintain lean automation, Playwright or Cypress, UI and API, integrate with CI, for example GitHub Actions.
Help define and run LLM evaluation checks, accuracy, reliability, safety, and contribute evidence for SOC 2 and ISO 27001 readiness.
Your qualifications
1 to 3 years testing web applications, with hands on test plans and manual execution.
Playwright or Cypress, plus Python or JavaScript, and familiarity with Git and CI.
Working grasp of web app fundamentals, authentication and APIs, basic SQL, observability, and cloud basics, for example AWS.
Entrepreneurial mindset, strong attention to detail, collaborative, organised, comfortable in a fast moving startup.
Nice to have, prior finance or fintech QA experience, LLM testing, SOC 2 or ISO 27001.
Your first 90 days
Regression suites in place for core areas, used on each release.
A reliable CI smoke suite that gates pull requests.
A first LLM eval harness for one critical user flow, plus traceable test evidence for selected controls.
