8 West Consulting is one of the country's largest software development organisations.Formerly named DeCare Systems Ireland, the company has been operating successfully in Cork city since 1998.8 West Consulting employs a wide range of technologies including Mobile (iOS, Android, Windows), Java SE/Java EE (WebLogic, WebSphere, Spring, Akka, Hibernate, GWT, etc.), Microsoft .NET (ASP.NET, C#, etc.), JavaScript (AngularJS, JQuery, dojo, etc.), various database management systems (MongoDB, Oracle, SQL Server, MySql, etc.).8 West Consulting provides consultancy and leading-edge software solutions for a wide variety of US, EU and UK based clients in the insurance, healthcare, retail and public sector markets.We are seeking an experienced QA/Test Engineer to join our QA Team.The role is based in Cork, servicing the needs of our client, and will report to the Software Project Manager.The successful candidate will work with the development team in building and executing comprehensive suites of test plans and test cases and will have a minimum of 4 years' commercial experience.Responsibilities:Develop and execute test plans and test cases to solve technical challenges and shorten the test cycleAdd to our company's testing efforts and improve the test frameworks, tools and technologiesContribute and evolve high quality automated test solutions for functional, regression and performance testingKnowledge transfer and cross train other team members to enhance the teams automation capabilitiesDevelop an understanding of client business terminology practice and procedures within a reasonable timeframeProvide input as per best practice (estimating, designing, developing and executing test procedures and test cases)Work closely with the Development team on a daily basisLiaise with Product Owners/Business Analysts/Business Users if requirements are unclearExecute Test plans and Regression Test plans within agreed timescales and standardsTest complex areas of application(s) and use business knowledge to determine if functionality is correctInvestigate and document defects in a defect-tracking system and verify resolution to ensure prompt closure of all defectsClearly articulate and communicate testing status, and red/yellow flags, which might interfere with the achievement of QA milestonesManage priorities and set expectations when faced with multiple demanding tasksYou may be required to perform additional duties, not listed above, to support the testing function into the futureAdhere to and promote internal information security policies and proceduresTechnical ProfileMust have 4+ cumulative years of Software Test experienceProven track record using Industry Standard Test Automation Tools, Visual Studio Team System (Test Edition), Selenium (WebDriver) or similar toolsGood Working knowledge of SQLAutomated Testing experience advantageousAccessibility Insights or other UI ADA tools advantageousScrum / Agile experienceExperience of GCP advantageousExperience of structured testing methods and techniquesWorking knowledge .Net advantageousStrong testing background expected with experience writing test plans and test proceduresExperience in the use of Defect Tracking tools like Microsoft TFS, Dev Ops, HP ALMExperience testing business / enterprise applicationsPersonal ProfileAbility to work independently as well as part of teamAbility to learn new business areas quicklyTechnical degree or equivalent experienceExcellent written and verbal English communication skillsDesire to develop your own knowledge by keeping abreast of testing tools and techniques, attending workshops and reviewing technical publicationsPlease note this is a daily rate contract position.Candidates who apply must be eligible to work in Ireland holding either EU Citizenship or appropriate visa.Visa is required in advance of applying for this position.8 West Consulting does not provide sponsorship for this role.#J-18808-Ljbffr
