Manager, Product
to help grow our business and contribute to our future.
The Manager, Product assumes line management responsibilities for the product management team, providing mentorship and support for their development.
They facilitate collaboration, establish transparency, and develop a healthy working dynamic.
This role will represent all product lines in cross-functional meetings, balance customer needs with business goals, and make strategic decisions to optimize product success.
Major Activities:
Line management responsibilities for the product management team, provide guidance, mentorship, and support to all members, helping them develop their skills and excel in their roles.
Foster collaboration and alignment within the product team and across other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination.
Challenge, guide and support the prioritization and execution of product features and enhancements, ensuring they align with business goals and customer needs.
Define and implement processes for workflow process and procedures.
Establish weekly touchpoints with direct reports providing guidance and support and facilitating development.
Support and review and business case efforts, challenging thinking, estimations and rationale that requires investment.
Develop and facilitate a culture of transparency, openness and a healthy working dynamic where learning is paramount.
Work closely with stakeholders, including customers, to gather feedback, ensuring a consistently high level of quality from the product team from documentation to communication, clarity and transparency of our efforts throughout.
Collates and reports on key performance indicators at a portfolio level to determine ERS' ability to successfully execute against what we set out to achieve.
Uses data analysis and insights to guide decision making.
Representing all product lines in cross-functional meetings, serving as a subject matter expert and facilitating coordination across multiple product teams or initiatives.
Support the team to balance customer needs with business goals, profitability, and growth, making strategic decisions that optimize the product and business' overall success.
Knowledge:
7+ years in a Product Manager / Senior Product Owner role balancing both responsibilities of the day-to-day execution with staying on top of the sector you are serving.
2+ years line management responsibility for a product management team.
A primary degree (business or technology)
Advanced Computing Skills – needed to allow person to work with the necessary tools and products used throughout the product management process.
Leadership Skills – ability to lead, mentor and coach a team of product professionals
Communication Skills – needed to enable a clear vision of features and goals
Product Management Skills – needed to manage the product and understand best practice and priority management
