Technology strategy and for stimulating change and new ways of working across the company.As part of the office of the CTO, the Architecture team is responsible for technical leadership, strategic planning, standards definition and guidance throughout the organisation.We are looking for an experienced and forward-thinking technology professional to join this team as a technology architect to support the delivery of RTÉ's New Direction Strategy.Reporting to the Head of Technology Architecture, you will work closely with key stakeholders across RTÉ to ensure that our technical platforms and solutions are fit for the future and aligned with evolving audience needs.You will help shape the architecture of RTÉ's media workflows, spanning content creation, production, post-production, distribution, and broadcast transmission.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain technology strategies and multi-year roadmaps aligned with RTÉ's business objectives and content delivery needsEnsure that technology choices support scalable, reliable, and cost-effective broadcast and digital servicesCreate and maintain architecture documentation, design standards, and governance frameworksStay abreast of emerging trends in broadcast, production, streaming, and digital media technologiesIdentify opportunities for innovation and advise on new media workflows, IP-based production, and hybrid broadcast architecturesProactively identify technical debt and assess risks that could affect content operations or broadcast resilienceWork with project teams to design and deliver solutions that modernise infrastructure and reduce operational riskProvide technical guidance and approvals for major initiatives, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and maintainableCollaborate with cross-functional teams including Infrastructure, Applications and Systems and Operations to ensure alignment across RTÉ's activitiesChampion new approaches and technologies, including cloud migration, automation, AI-assisted content workflows, and data-driven productionPromote awareness of opportunities arising from innovation within RTÉ and undertake any other appropriate duties as requiredAbout you5+ years of experience in a relevant technology role.Experience of technology in the media and entertainment industry an advantageA bachelor's or master's degree in a technology discipline is an added advantageExperience with the design, procurement and implementation of complex technology systems across the full system lifecycleStrong collaboration, communication and inter-personal skills with the ability to work with stakeholders at all levelsExcellent presentation skills and a proven ability to communicate complex and technical topics to non-technical stakeholdersAbility to make decisions in a complex and sometimes ambiguous environment and clearly understand, negotiate and communicate the trade-offs of those decisionsSelf-reliance and ability to manage competing priorities –
