Mechanical Design Engineer – County CavanLocation:County Cavan, IrelandType:Full-time, PermanentSector:Engineering / Manufacturing / Power SystemsAbout the Role:We are seeking a talented and detail-orientedMechanical Design Engineerto join our innovative and customer-focused design team.This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design and development of Electrical products tailored to customer specifications, helping to expand our product capabilities and support long-term client relationships.You will be based on-site and report to the Head of Design, collaborating closely with multiple departments including Production, R&D, and Quality to deliver high-standard, customised engineering solutions.Key Responsibilities:Prepare technical specifications, CAD drawings, and engineering documentation for customer approval and internal use.Direct and coordinate the manufacture of prototype units.Collaborate with the R&D team to identify opportunities for process and product improvements.Optimise mechanical design to meet customer specifications and performance targets.Produce clear manufacturing instructions and support factory operations to ensure designs are accurately implemented.Maintain and update all relevant technical documentation and specifications.Act as a key liaison between engineering and production teams to ensure quality and efficiency in manufacturing.Qualifications & Experience:Degree or Diploma inMechanical Engineering.Experience with design software such asCREO(or similar CAD tools).Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial design environment is highly desirable.Knowledge ofinternal standards, product conformity, and quality control metrics.High level of proficiency inMicrosoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.Familiarity withSAPor similar ERP systems is an advantage.Willingness to travel for business as required.A full clean driving licence is preferable.Personal Attributes:Highly analytical with strong attention to detail.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Proactive, self-motivated, and a reliable team player.Effective time management and confident decision-making skills.Organised and able to work independently or as part of a cross-functional team.Takes pride in their work and contributes positively to the workplace culture.This is a rewarding opportunity to join a company committed to engineering excellence and innovation.If you are passionate about delivering high-quality design solutions in a fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you.Skills:mechanical design electrical engineering mechanical engineer electrical engineer#J-*****-Ljbffr
