Job Title: Dairy Relief Worker (Spring Calving Season ****)Location: Nenagh, Co.TipperaryEmployment Type: Part-Time (2–3 days per week)Duration: February – April ****About the Role:We are seeking a reliable and experienced Dairy Relief Worker to join our team during the busy spring calving season.This part-time position (2–3 days per week) involves assisting with milking, calving, and a variety of general farm duties to help keep the farm running smoothly during peak season.You'll be working closely with the farmer to support daily operations and ensure high standards of animal welfare and farm hygiene are maintained.Key Responsibilities:Milking: AM/PM milking using a herringbone parlourCalving Assistance: Monitoring cows, assisting with deliveries, tagging calves, and ensuring new born health.Calf Rearing: Feeding calves (milk and meal), bedding, and maintaining calf shed hygieneFeeding & Bedding Livestock: Operating feeders, preparing feed, distributing silage, and bedding down shedsYard Work & Hygiene: Scraping, cleaning sheds, and maintaining a tidy, safe working environmentMachinery Operation: Assisting with tractor work and other machinery where competent (e.g., feeding, topping, moving bales)General Repairs & Maintenance: Fixing fences, gates, water troughs, and other basic infrastructure tasksAnimal Health Checks: Identifying and reporting any signs of illness or injury in cows or calvesPasture Management Support: Moving electric fences, checking water supplies, and assisting with herd moves when neededRequirements:Previous experience working on a dairy farm, especially during spring calving, is essentialConfident and competent in handling livestock safelyGood attention to detail and a proactive approach to workPhysically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditionsAble to work independently and as part of a teamFlexible with working hours, including early starts and occasional weekend coverTractor/machinery experience is an advantageFull driver's licence and own transport requiredBenefits:Competitive hourly rate (based on experience)Flexible working days (2–3 days/week)Supportive and well-run farm environmentHands-on experience with a high-performing spring calving herdOpportunity to build your skills in a progressive farming operationTo Apply:Send us your CV and a short description of your relevant experience.Job Types: Part-time, Fixed termPay: €*****-€***** per hourAbility to commute/relocate:Nenagh, CO.Tipperary: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)Experience:dairy farm work: 2 years (required)milking: 1 year (required)Language:English (required)Licence/Certification:tractor & car licence (required)Work authorisation:Ireland (required)Location:Nenagh, CO.Tipperary (preferred)Work Location: In person
